I'd sue the police department if I was the dancer.

Maybe they got too much time on their hands.

have forgotten that the club and businesses that pay taxes, pay their salary!

I can see why escorts would rather prostitution stay illegal.  They would be giving a chunk of their hard earned money to be harassed by abusive, arrogant, government officials in power.

It would be better to be charged with a misdemeanor weed or prostitution charge than constantly having the government degrade you.   Weed and prostitution legalized would end up corrupt, because police officers don't make enough to live on...many are divorced because they are abusive husbands, and they turn corrupt to pay child support because they get tired of living in mama's basement.  And the more you would give them to be left alone, the more they would come back empty handed and wanting more.  I don't need a police officer pimp in my life.

Yes those cops are really tough, I bet you they showed those strippers just how tough they are.

Sounds like a bunch of "tough guys behind a badge" making up for having had their lunch money stolen as children by the bigger kids.

at the risk of sounding like a ambulance chaser, what law did LE violate?

.should not be exploited themselves? Who gives a shit. Tats ARE a great way of recognition and cataloging. The way they(strippers)work over those who visit titty-bars, they(themselves)deserve to be worked over occassionaly.

So, they don't want cops to see their private areas w/o paying for it?

I do find entertainment value picking on male species who are clearly falling behind in evolutionary chain though. Some guys on TER are too dumb I fear they might get eaten by a cow instead of the other way around. lol

I didn't read anything about the girls being charged with a crime. If they were, then yes, just like with a gang member who's charged with a crime, it's helpful to catalog his or her tats. But, to do so without being charged, I view, as police harassment, and I hope they take the cops to court and sue. Not certain if they can, but I don't see why not.

Yes, it seems like police harassment to me. It doesn't to you? And, plenty of people sue the police for harassment. Some win, some lose.

.to do SURPRISE inspections. That's why the girls were caught in compromising positions. They know these raids, as the article tagged it, will occur so why don't they wear some damn clothing?

I have little remorse for those who "prey" on others

Who needs to be a lawyer? Matt, I want to know how this will be proven. The dancers say they were detained against their will. If they were willingly participating in a police investigation, they were not held against their will.

I never said this wasn't police harassment, I don't believe LE violated the law.

DPD can legally conduct a spot-check inspection of a club when ever they like.

"I have little remorse for those who 'prey' on others." Ya, I've heard you whine before about women taking advantage of men. Typical religious social conservative who blames the woman for him not being able to keep his dick in his pants or his money in his wallet. Myself, I've always enjoyed myself with the dancers, and never felt preyed upon. I guess that's because I seldom do anything I don't want to do, and if I do, I take responsibility for my behavior, and not blame the woman.

As far as the police being "mandated," "A work permits costs a dancers $400 a year, and it includes finger printing and social security verification." Since when do they need to take pictures when verifying a woman's work permit, when it's her social security and finger prints and her photo ID that is used to verify who she is and if her permit is valid?

Perhaps you need to stay away from the ladies for awhile. Wouldn't want you to be "preyed upon!"   ;

They say they were! Are you saying they were not? Were you there?

"These dumb broads can't even get stripping right."

Have you seen them strip?

I wasn't! But, from the article, my impression is that there was police harassment. I think they could have gotten the information they needed, checked to see if the dancer's permits were in order, and treated them with the respect due to any citizen, whether that person is on the street, in a business or in their home. It seems to me that didn't happen. I can appreciate where the authorities would like to catalog those dancers tats, like they do with gang members, because there may be times when she is involved in a crime. But, they weren't charged with a crime. It's much like what is recommended when a john is stopped by the police, who suspect him of soliciting a provider. When the officer trys to stop him and asks for personal information, he is to ask: Am I suspected of committing a crime? If he says no, then he should be free to withhold any information and free to go. If he says yes, then he is to call your lawyer before talking to them.

It seems like all this is going to be handled through the legal system, so I'll let them sort it all out, from here!  ;)

Now imagine that any time you or anyone that resembles you drives on a certain side of a certain street in your town, you get a body cavity strip search and full search of your motor vehicle. Sounds reasonable to me. After all the police are just trying to protect me. Just which days are you required to go to the titty bar any way. I kind of like the abuse I get.
