No, I'm not talking about a nuclear weapon strike, nor the senate maneuver to change the required number to approve appointments from 60 to 51. I'm talking about something different altogether.

There's been some discussion here, in the past, regarding how it seems there is some reason to believe that Putin has Trump by the balls. I'm proposing that he only has one nut. The Republican Congress has a firm hold on the other nut. And, how's that you may ask? They have a nuclear option they prefer not to use, because that would eliminate their control over him. Senator Collins threatened it today: "issuing subpoenas for Donald Trump’s tax returns to determine whether the president has financial ties to Russia." I read an article, early during the day, but cannot locate it now, where the author proposed this would be the easiest and quickest way to get rid of Trump. That Trump would find a relatively face saving way to withdraw from the presidency if this were to occur. He may be on to something there. Congress may very well be more and more open to such a tactic if Trump becomes too toxic, and they believe they have Pence's backing for their legislative agengas.

This is normally the part in the program when I would suggest you put 1/10th of your energy you are putting in to bringing Trump down by some bizarre, virtually impossible way, and worked on your own corrupt party.

You are on the verge of electing a REAL anti-Semite in Keith Ellison as the head of your party so I would think that would have your attention and wrath.

But I digress...

Susan Collins is as far left a Republican as there is in the Senate. She does not possess the keys to the subpoena power. Sounds like she is just taking her moderate political persona for a public walk to satisfy her left leaning constituency.

And even if the R's did subpoena his returns, how would that "get rid" of Trump? What are you expecting to find in there? Membership in the Politburo? lol

We know he has filed returns for 2015, 2014, 2013 ……and so on and those returns are in the position of the IRS.

There is no doubt whatsoever, if there were/are and irregularities in his returns the corrupt IRS under the corrupt obama administration would have leaked it all to the press during the campaign or while trump was President elect at the latest.

If you ask the question. "Do you want to see the president's tax returns?" Most will answer yes. If you asked the follow up question of. "Do you think there is something in his tax returns that will lead to his impeachment?" You'd get about 20% to say yes. The 20% represents the regressive left.

Average Joe/Jane's only care about what effects them day to day. Jobs, taxation and security are the three primary things that matter. When Trump bigly adds job, lowers taxes and increases security, he'll roll right into a second term.
