Texas was annexed by the United States. Palestine is occupied by Israel. There is a difference. A more proper analogy would be that you can move to Baghdad because the US occupies Iraq.
Personally, I think we should just stop giving either side any weapons, and tell them that they have to figure out their own problems, and if they don't we'll just nuke the place and turn it into a parking lot for American tourists.
