By no means I'm a political or religious person. But...

I agree not to buy or be part of "black friday". Not that I ever took part in such a thing.
Not being totally knowledgeble of the Occupy this and that movement. But being more on their side that not by default by being one of the 99%. I say yes let's buy nothing on friday and because most probably I will have nothing better to do, I'll go and sit around in the mall where the temperature is ok.

I tried to domestically mail cologne to my Uncle for birthday, but post office said no-go, only by rail, because of "terrorist concerns about liquids".

Does same apply to oversea mailings of booze, particularly to soldiers ? Anyone on board know ?

shark feeding frenzy seems quite appealing. NOT! Nothing remotely human or humane in that dynamic. Hell, I can't even stand to wait in line at Starbucks for a cup of coffee. It boggles my mind to see people waiting in lines to get into a restaurant, get a cup of coffee, etc., etc. When I got out of the service, I was determined never to stand in lines again. Well, there has been a few exceptions like the DMV, theater, etc.

I'm with you on this one. The only thing I'll buy is more booze to pollute my liver. I do that every other day, so WTF difference does it make the date of the day?

I have to go to two different Thanksgiving deals tomorrow, against my wishes, but I'll be picking up more booze and you can bet your ass I'll be at home drinking my face off Thursday night and Friday day... ;)

Ahhhhh, Gilbert Shelton & the "counterculture 3 Stooges". Loved that great stuff in my dimly remembered youth.

Mein, you familiar with other great Shelton character pictured below ?

on black Friday and never will.  I internet shop for the things I need new and have them delivered.  I only Christmas shop for children and send packages to soldiers overseas.  Anything that has to do with toys for me, with the exception of sex toys of course :), I buy used and scan craigslist.  I am a thrifty shopper and save for big things I want and use no credit cards.  Hell, I drive my 92 year old grandmas car that is 12 years old with 30k miles.  I never get a second look from the police in my grandma car.   But have gotten a couple tickets in the mail from those cameras that spy on us now at intersections now.

I don't think they enforce the penalties all that severely, but rather they destroy the contraband (probably, often, some luck stiff keeps it instead of destroying it).  ;)

Me neither-I cannot imagine what possess's people to get up in the middle of the night to wait in line at a Walmart, Kohl's, or Target store.  Makes no sense to me at all-I can buy whatever I want any other time and the deals are always either in short supply or non existent-the only reason I would be up at 3 AM is to go hunting or just getting back in from visiting a lady!

can I send alcohol overseas to soldiers for Christmas?  I plan on sending some really nice cigars and wonder if they can drink on Christmas day while deployed?

It's a nice change to write something, click it, and see it go up instantaneously like the old days, lol!

all the time.  Talked to my brother yesterday and it was a little after midnight there and he said they are in direct fire all the time at a base near the Pakistan border.  He said it is nothing like Iraq and it is dangerous all the time.  also said they can get most things at their store except baby wipes are in real high demand and aren't available.
