Unfortunately, the USA Freedom Act was defeated, largely due to the lack of support by those supposed freedom loving republicans.  This bill , though weakened from the originals versions, would reign in many of the abuses being conducted by our intelligence agencies on Americans.  McConnel opposed the bill as did Rand Paul, who said it didn't go far enough.  I don't trust Paul, and I think he's more mainstream than his rhetoric.  It's a sad day for all Americans.

Let's see if I got this article right - both hate the bill because::
- Paul: it does not end the Patriot Act (ie: HATES NSA spying)
- McConnel: it doesn't do enough spying (ie: LOVES NSA spying)
Yep... they're both 'standing together' on this one...
