Since when does "raising money for kids with cancer" and "pitiful" get used in the same sentence.

I am no big fan of Penn State either, but these kids deserve kudos, not ridicule. I say give Olbermann the ax, and do it now.

I saw your post about BillO re: JFK and Bill has some splanin' to do on that one. Waiting to hear his response, but if true, THAT is a Brian Williams issue.

It is getting to the point where you cant trust anyone, ever, in politics or the media.

whopper Bill O. seems to have said which is not new news as  Salon talked about it in 2013.

it's best to always have a healthy dose of skepticism prepared. As far as wanting someones head for voicing untruths, regarding the press, I figure the market will determine their fate. Media sources, who's bread and butter come from reporting the news, can't stay in business very long if their credibility is shot. Whereas, truth is not an issue if the media source is for more for entertainment value.

Pocatello, ID? At the rate he's going, he's going to hit bottom very soon.

Yes, I haven't called for Brian Williams head on a platter. That is up to NBC and its audience but I think they have already fired him as the 6 month "suspension" is a red herring.

The two stories really are quite dissimilar. Williams is/was the face of the NBC news division, being not just its anchor on its most heralded broadcast but being its managing editor as well. He essentially determines what is, and what is not newsworthy.

OReilly, on the other hand, has nothing to do with Fox's news division. Nothing. That is Brett Baer's and Chris Wallace's domain. OReilly is a news commentator. To me, that doesn't give him carte blanche to fabricate shit, but the accountability should be a bit different.

.........MSNBC, if they had any sense should try and lure him back.

Just what did those nice people in Pocatello ever do to you to deserve the likes of Keithie?

but I will agree, he is on a rapid trip to the bottom, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

I too have had issues with Penn St, but not with the kids that go there. How can a public figure get away with calling kids that raised over thirteen million dollars to fight cancer pathetic and still keep his job?

...in L.A. in the '80s.  It was late at night and he had just come from his local news gig.  To make sure everyone knew who he was, he hadn't changed from his "broadcaster outfit" - three-piece suit from the waist up, jeans and sneakers from the waist down.

Keith had recently undergone a makeover after having come to the big L.A. market.  To take him down a peg, I asked him if his bosses had given him the "Christine Kraft ultimatum."  If looks could kill...

Some redneck would mistake him for an elk and empty his "thirty odd six" into him. Or maybe even some non red neck, as old Keithy has a way of pissing almost everybody off.

..."thirty aught six."  "Aught" is the old-timey way of saying zero because aught is the way they said zero when the .30-06 was introduced at the turn of the last century.

I hate being wrong, and I am going to blame sobriety for my mistake. Even though I am fluent in "redneck" you are absolutely correct.

I am going to start drinking now, as I make a lot less mistakes when drunk.

A Google search for "30 odd six" yields 79 million results while a search for "30 aught six" asks you if you meant "30 ought six."

Language changes over the course of 100 years, but not necessarily for the better.
