Even the Fox News crowd has turned on him.  It is wonderful to see how they devour their own.  Now we'll see what Christie does.  My guess is that he'll run, but also be undone by the process.  And it's still so early.  I'll still put my  money on Romney.  But even Newt has been doing better since all his mis-steps a few months ago.  I think he's a credible candidate.  Too bad he's just such a dick.

but he is a very smart and savvy dick.

The guy knows the inner workings of Washington better than anybody in the race, including our current President.

He may still be a factor, especially if he can get some money behind him. I don't see him winning the nomination unless something very strange were to happen but he could have an influence on who gets it.

Romney is still the guy to beat. If Christie gets in the race, he will definitely give the race and the Party a huge shot of adrenaline. He is still really an unknown to most of America so it would be interesting to see how a campaign of his would play out.

Instead of ripping the Republican Party, the sitting President should start worrying about his own job and not appear so vindictive. He, right now, is his campaign's own worst enemy.

Unless they use Segways, mobility chairs, and HEAVILY air-conditioned venues with little to no walking or stairs; that sweaty, outa-shape, bullying fat fuck is gonna have a big, sweaty, massive cardio infarction on the campaign trail. Obama is gonna be shoot'n hoops jogging from stop to stop, And Christie will ultimately be wheeled onto a stage with an oxygen tube up his nose, a team of doctors just off stage, and a continuing monitoring for acute diabetes.  Folks may like his "Tony Saprano on the side of law & Country" persona; but fearing he may at anytime stroke out from walking from East to West wing could negatively influence. And he doesn't have TIME to lose 150lbs and get fit if he's campaigning.

Don't you pay attention? Besides, he's obviously not gonna get your vote, or any votes from the unions, or blacks. He's certainly pissed off plenty of them.

... even though he had the endorsement of Nancy Reagan in his back pocket if he wanted it.

Give the man credit for knowing his limitations. As a governor he has a power base, and is well within his comfort zone. But the microscope of national politics would scrutinize him far more intensively than he would want.

Still, seeing him with his arm around Nancy Reagan's shoulders gives one pause... maybe he's considering an offer he can't refuse!

of Christie and Obama walking together, arm in arm, from a helicopter (presumably after the hurricane).  It looked like Obama was walking with a dancing bear.  If Christie balloons up any more he'll make William Howard Taft look svelte.

thats no big deal, *I* make Taft look svelte.

Christie just looks like a Macy's Day parade balloon o_O

This is as ridiculous as the people who were ripping President Obama because he smokes.

I know that many Dems fear Christie and his popularity and are very happy that he is resistant to running.

But, somewhere down the road, the Dems are going to run into not only a popular Christie but also a very popular young man named Marco Rubio.

For the first time in years, the Republicans have a couple of young shining stars amidst their ranks.

If GOP fails to win WH in '12, then he'd defintely be a formidable candidate in '16.

What is truly annoying is why GOP voters refuse to coalesce to Romney, who is a perfectly competent candidate & highly electable & always searching for a new FOTM candidate.

One would have to be naive to deny the fact that his Mormon faith is part of the reason why this quandry exists.

I think it is relative lack of pizzazz that keeps him from getting full-fledged support from many Republicans.

Let's face it. Romney is a boring guy. He is the Republicans' version of John Kerry, but at least he earned his money and didn't marry into it.

He is clearly a strong candidate and, with all the economic issues, an electable one.

Sorry, PW, I couldn't help it.  Anyway, Christie's weight is relevant in terms of his health.  He can't possibly be a healthy man, being so overweight.  That was pointed out earlier in the thread.  I do enjoy his verbal jousting, although it's been pointed out he plays fast-and-loose with the facts at times.  But I guess they all do.
