I agree. His speech sound more like Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country," regarding to nature of governance in a democracy.

I didn't hear any allusion to our nation being a utopia. I did hear him say things are better than when he took office, and they are. We are no longer in the deepest economic downturn since the Great Depression. And, we are better off than most nations in the world. I did hear him say that there was much more work to be done to improve the lot of everyone.

Reaganesk! Matter of fact, some of the commentators made light of the fact that it sound so much like "a new morning" and "a city on a hill," that Republicans lost out on claiming the same vision. That the Dems. snatched it away from them.
