another waste of hundreds of millions for green jobs

The Labor department evaluated the effectiveness of the $500,000,000 spent for "green jobs."
It created 1/10 of the jobs expected, and most of them were temporary.

Funny, in his latest proposal for jobs, Obama didn't talk about green jobs as the jobs of the future.

As they said in the old days re the USSR. "I have seen the future, and it doesn't work."

"They pretend to pay us, and we pretend to work."

"Fuck it's cold, pass me the vodka" lol

I know it has nothing to do with the conversation, but I don't give a fuck. lol

I always tell people I know my Russian was good because I could drink with the Russians and still understand what they were saying.
In the old days, they sold bottles of vodka that were sealed with wax instead of a cork. Once you cut open the seal, you can't close it.  The first time I saw that I asked how they would close it when they we were done drinking.  They explained you never need to seal a bottle.

Hadn't heard that for years.
Another common saying was "We know the future. It is the past we don't know."

One of my favs requires some explanation.
The Party newspaper was Pravda, which translates to "truth," and the State paper was Investia, which translated into "News."
They had an old joke playing on those names, "In Truth [the paper] there is no news, and in News, there is no truth."

That was what they said.

Does anyone know if this story is true.  At the beginning of the novel "Gorky Park," there's a story about a guy in Siberia who left his bottle of vodka outside to chill.  Problem was, the temperature dropped to 40 below.  So when he took a swig of it the next morning, the superchilled vodka stopped his heart and killed him.  Is it possible this could be true?  What a way to go.

The freezing point of 100 proof is right about 40 below, 80 proof vodka would be solid as a rock well before the temperature dipped that low.

Even 100 proof vodka would be the consistency of thick syrup at that cold a temperature, so I doubt seriously that this is a true story.
