It will be interesting to see the impact the next few months on the economy on DOD civilian pay. Do you all think this will have a big impact on the hobby in the DC area ?

And I'm of the opinion that all the furloughs should happen all at once, just so that the boneheads on Capitol Hill can see the consequences for their actions.

But, oh well. At least some agencies were smart enough to cut back on expenses ahead of time so no one would have to be furloughed.

...11 weeks.  It won't have the same drastic effect as a layoff, but it hurts those living on a paycheck nonetheless.

Doctors, Lawyers, Govt officials, contractors, lobbyists.

I say there won't be much in terms of price reduction, if that was your angle...LMAO..

And as the article states that its only till Sept 20. Hey Nats will be in the playoffs by then, and the guys will be high and spending hand over fist on hookers.... :D

anywhere from 2-3K.  For many it has negative impact.

BUT the Obama clan made sure their $100M vacation to Africa, etc was not impacted.

"anywhere from 2-3K".

What do those numbers represent?

Well, they asked for it, they got it.

At some point we have to decide whether we are serious about the debt crisis, or if we are simply going to kick the can down the road until we end up like Greece.

but I will admit, it sucks when you are the one impacted. I would like to point out that Obama care and the tax increases that go along with it are going to impact me just as much on a percentage basis, and a hell of a lot more in actual dollars, as any of the workers impacted by this.

Depends on the customer base. Lets sit back and see what happens. Maybe you are correct maybe  there not that many hobbyists in the DOD civilian community.

Liberals have been hollering for years that we spend too much on defense and the politico-industrial complex.

Now they cry that the sequester is hurting the military industrial complex!!!!

Geez, you guys crack me up!!!!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see we spend way too much money on defense. But these cuts are going to hurt our local economy. That's just the way the cookie crumbles.

On the up side, my home has appreciated more than I owe on my loan. How's everyone else doing these days?
