"President Obama and top budget analysts are warning the so-called debt Super Committee not to take the easy way out of their mandate to cut the deficit by at least $1.2 trillion, as lawmakers have yet to reach a deal ahead of a Nov. 23 deadline."

Okay, I just about had coffee come out of my nose when I read that.

"...not to take the easy way out...?"

What the fuck has our government been doing since 1932? They have been kicking the can down the road since FDR, and suddenly, Dear Leader doesn't warns the political sycophants to not take the easy way out?

That utter chutzpah!

So, having acknowledged that fact, you sound extremely stupid to be blaming Obama for his remark. And, you'd sound extremely stupid to blame him for our current economic crises. You've really stepped in it this time!  ;)

Not blaming Obama. Just pointing out the hypocrisy. If anything, I am pointing out the stupidity of the average American.

But you have a nice day.

I don't view the average American as being all that stupid. Just, they want to believe what they want to believe, and that's where they're stupid. ;)

...they created the law for the super-committee, they can change the law again. No cuts. No new taxes.

Same old same old.

Why oh why have we worried our pretty little heads?

they ought to be hung up by their heels.  It will lead to another downgrade, tank the markets and prove once and for all that our system of government is dysfunctional.

Hey guys, if you would just stop and catch your breath, you might remember Civics 101 which teaches that congress passes legislation but the POTUS must sign it before it becomes law.  POTUS has already said he ain't signing nothing, so let's just see how that works out.

And oh BTW, have you forgotten that we are likely going to have to face a declared adversary called Iran who by most accounts is within a year of building a nuke, something that even the current POTUS says is unacceptable?  So, if you take that on face value to mean he will use military force if necessary to deal with that, then just exactly why would you want to cut our military budget by $500 billion, at this point in time?

Give me a break and try some common sense.

I would reluctantly support it.  But it wouldn't be through a ground invasion, but with multiple surgical strikes with the latest bunker-busters.  The cost would be to the world economy when Iran closes the Straits of Hormuz.  That's when the war would happen, but it wouldn't be just us fighting it.  Anyway, we'd have no choice.  We already have fought two wars over oil, courtesy of Bush, pere et fils.
