... which would certainly feed into Russian connection frequently referenced in this forum by humans as well as both Planet Stupid and the Maroon Platoon.

Thing is... doesn't this actually validate some of their claims? Tillerson rose through the ranks of Exxon in their Russian division after all.

Me personally, I no longer have a dog in this hunt, seeing as I refuse to support either the alt-Right or the Hard-Left.
They can all go fuck themselves to death for all I care.

But I do have concerns for the well being of the country on both domestic and international stages.

Objectively speaking, picking someone like Tillerson makes more sense to me than Romney; a businessman with international cachet and long term relationship with the PE over a failed politician who didn't make nice with the PE.. I don't see any good choices for Sec of State who would be acceptable to a majority, though I admit I'm surprised John Bolton wasn't given more serious consideration

I would go with Romney if I were Trump. If I were Romney, I would be hiding under the covers. Kissing Trump's ring after the shit he said about Trump is as big of a pussy move as it gets.

Someone, on one of the talking heads shows political shows, said he may be chatting with Romney about him taking temporary control of running some of Trump's investments, which would make some sense.

I would disagree about the majority re: Romney. I think most of the country would be in favor, unless you meant a majority of R only voters.

Yes, I meant the R's only. My quandary is that while I get the idea behind someone like Tillerson, I don't like it any more than Romney. Maybe even less. Does it have to be someone with such strong ties to both Vladimir Putin AND Arab Oil?
At least it isn't Al Sharpton or David Duke.

I don't really see anyone I would find comforting at the moment.

If only Arden Moon was available. She'd do good and look good doing it

...Was Rex Tillerson in charge of Exxon when they refused to finish cleaning-up after the Alaska oil spill ?

200K or??? Oh, forgot..to make America Great Again....yup that sounds about right.
And John Bolton is rethread Neocon from the GW days.
But now, I'm just gonna enjoy this circus, it's good material.

he hit mandatory retirement age next Spring (65).  And he won't be hurting for money, "Aside from Tillerson's yearly salary, The Washington Post reported back in April that the CEO has "built a nest egg with about $218 million in Exxon stock plus a pension plan worth about $69.5 million." According to NBC News's Andrea Mitchell, Tillerson's overall net worth is over $150 million."

...push Trump to keep his promise (it would be the first) to move the U. S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

On Reagan's last day in office, Israel and the U.S. signed a 99 year lease at $1.00/year for 14 acres of land in Jerusalem.  Israel zoned it for "diplomatic purposes."  Bush I, Clinton, Bush II and Obama did nothing to move the embassy to Jerusalem.

But Trump has broken the mold of presidents.  He PROMISED to move the embassy to Jerusalem.  And Gingrich is a very vociferous supporter of moving the embassy.  In 1995, Gingrich said:  "As early as 1980, I voted to move the embassy. I strongly favor moving the embassy."

Do you think Trump will keep his promise to move the embassy?  Or will he say: "Forget it.  That plays great before the election (to get the Jewish vote).  Now we don't care, right?"

Great idea moving the embassy to Jerusalem.  It would start the Mother of all Intifadas and thumpers might get their most fervent wish - to see the end times in their lifetimes.  Win-win!!

Another great idea - with Trump's experience in construction, he could easily build the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.  You don't suppose Trump's elaborate hairdo covers up a "666" symbol, do you?

I really wish you were sincere, and not just being a snark.
I know you're just looking to pick a fight because as perfect as you are when it comes to your Boolean searches, you know damned well I despise the Newt.
You've apparently been spending way too much time with LTM seeing how you've become accustomed to truth and fact being an inconvenience to your agenda.

Note to JD - yes I referred specifically to the R's. I doubt the majority in this country want ANY of Trump's potential SoS appointments. And yes I'd prefer Bolton over Tillerson. Neocon or not, he's a lesser of the evils, imho. I'd prefer Colin Powell over any of them, but he's not available. Neither is Warren Christopher, and Dean Rusk is dead.

Note to hpygo - In 1989 Lawrence G. Rawl was CEO of Exxon. Tillerson was general manager of the central production division of Exxon USA at that time
