How convenient that Rolling Stone didn't include details of the accident. Nevertheless a few other sites say his car crossed a median, struck a tree, and burst into flames @ 4:25AM in Hollywood.

$100 bucks says he was trolling the bars in Hollywood, then trolling the streets in a manner only Hugh Grant would appreciate, then realized it really really late. Do we really need to investigate this further?

Nice theory but wrong. The accident didn't happen in Hollywood, it was in Hancock Park.

Accident happened at Highland and Melrose. His car was traveling southbound, which MEANS he was at least coming from Hollywood. Police report said the car was speeding. Hollywood, bars, drunk, 4:25AM, and in a hurry.

But if you want to put a Hancock Park spin on this, go for it.
