The news reports the Supremes have agreed to hear the Obamacare case.  What's intriguing and somewhat suprising is that they apparently announced that in doing so, they will consider a larger question dealing with the "rights" of the Federal government to "meddle" in the rights of the individual.  Could this be a sign that the Supremes are alarmed by the appearance of a general trend toward States rights and individual rights?  I think so.

just presenting the case to Kennedy. Whatever the position, you have to sell him, because his vote will be the tiebreaker. Any bets on anything other than a 5-4 decision?

My guess is it will be 5-4 to overturn the law, with Kennedy one of the 5.  The only question in my mind is, will the court throw out the entire Act or just the requirement to purchase?

especialy the "statement" from the Court re "meddling."  I don't think it means very much, though, because the issue of the government's right to require citizens to purchase health insurance was always the heart of the case.
