Spirituality is a manifestation of how God loves man.
Religion is a manifestation of man's attempt to show how much he (man) loves God.

but the whole debate is foolish IMO as it requires one to accept the notion that there is a god in the first place, and all discussion like this have to be based on that one, very faulty, foundation.
I am also a person of science. I know that makes some people's head explode.
The theist in me explains the spiritual nature to my life. The agnostic keeps an open mind, realizing the lack of evidence while also recognizing that we know so very little it would be presumptuous and arrogant to rule out the possibility or even probability.
and I will agree with you up to your last two words "even probability" I will grant a possibility as I have no proof to the contrary, but to stretch that to "probability" especially if we are talking about the ridiculous concept of a Christian type, all knowing, all powerful God that needs to be worshipped, I would say those odds are "off the board" although impossible to prove otherwise
we really can't rule out the possibility that he's real, too. And being persons of science we should take into account that pursuant to the multiverse theories of quantum mechanics there must be a universe in which Elmer Fudd is god and Richard Nixon is a prostitute. I know this because I feel it in my heart because Peter and Elmer always gave me a good feeling when I was a kid and Dicky was always looking for someone to fuck.

With the exception of the ancient voodoo-hoodoo in your archaic bibles, torahs, Dead Sea scrolls and such there is little in our modern world that isn't well explained by science. And as much that was said about goodness, charity, brotherly love etc etc it seems the most despotic always rise to great power, those of great wealth only seem to amass more and get more greedy while doing it, and rather than inheriting the earth the meek continue too live in ceaseless fear and desperation.
Believe as you wish; but if there is a god he might be found in the dictionary under "absentee landlord" or "dead-beat parent"
The way I phrased it back then was that if God had created the heavens and the earth then he must have been on vacation ever since.
What you are describe is the direct result of individuals living together in a society
but then the God I conceptualize probably isn't the same as some.
