She looks black to me. What do you all think ? It is funny to see Matt Lauer look in shook as he interviews her.

It sounds like the perfect BS story, for the media to run with.

It sounds insane because she is a little bonkers.

But in an era where eveything is subjective, why not?

.......have been running 24/7 analysis on this woman. Who the fuck cares, you have black women everyday trying to look white dying their hair blonde, using fake green/blue eye pupil covers, bleaching creams, etc. You have white women everyday trying to look as dark as possible spending lots of time in the sun or on a sun tanning bed. Enough of this nonsense already. If she thinks she's black, it's her choice.

But she is no more "black" than I am.

Drop her in the middle of a Klan gathering and she'd be eating Miracle Whip sandwiches using Wonder Bread while draped in the Confederate Flag.

As soon as some real news occurs she'll disappear like a fart in the wind.

but I'm not sure whether she has crossed that fine line between audacity and idiocy, or whether the idiocy is reserved to the NAACP.

Perhaps the NAACP should highlight their new hiring process, embracing the principles of racial non-discrimination and affirmative action?

Nah. Rachel, the NAACP and anyone who reports this as "news" are idiotic. Titillating, but devoid of meaning or value beyond sarcastic and cynical comedy-fodder

Of course the plot would have had to been dreamed up when she started at the NAACP.

Subjective? Sure if a human can change their gender, why can't a person change their race?

People should just look like the way they were created...

Which is not news to you and I.

Imagine if a white organization had a situation like this occur, and asked a black employee to step down?

I have to admit she is crazy but I would still fuck the shit out of her!
So I don't care if someone loves any culture or race of people.
Just stay true to who you are as a person.

CNN has always been liberal and supporting lib causes.  It was founded by an old time lib.

You have a false comparison.  This is not someone dying to look like something she is not. It is a person saying she is something she is not.

I may think I am 6 feet two inches tall, but I am not and I would be delusional to say I am.  I am not 25 years old and I would be lying if I said I was and sick if I believed it.

There is an objective reality.

If you think there is no objective reality and everything is what one believes, I belived that Obama started the Iraq war.

the lady is without doubt a bit nuts and certainly audacious: 1. showing a willingness to take surprisingly bold risks, and 2. showing an impudent lack of respect.

She is also not news. The "pretending to be black" thing has been done quite a few times before:

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2015/06/12/other_white_americans_have_pretended_to_be_black_rachel_dolezal_s_predecessors.html

IMHO, the lady and the situation add zero to news and social commentary.

The story does provide material for pundits, late night comedians and erstwhile talk show hosts.

You want news? Have the NAACP retain her in the job. That would shatter barriers and generate one hell of a social commentary - not to mention stop the comedians in their tracks. That would be new, that would be News.

........masquerading as a news organization. CNN over the past few years has tried to be apolitical and IMHO has failed miserably.

The fact that a news organization has a recognzable slant does not make it a politcal front.  Would you say the same thing about MSNBC, which is far more slanted?

The L.A. Times has endorsed a Dem in every election since JFK and has endorsed every Dem position, just as examples, gay marraige, death penalty, climate change, etc.  That doesn't deprive it of the news organization source.   The same can be said of the New York TImes.  Is these papers a "left wing political operations?"

In Europe, every paper has a slant, and people know what their bias is.

For the life of me, with the obvious bias of NYT, LAT, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, SF Chron...  and I can go on and on, with one major conservative voice, why does it get so much hate.

Obama has attacked Fox and Rush.  I find this amazing.  I don't know of a president who attacked news sources.  Bush II was severely criticized for years.  Whether it was fair or not is irrelevant.  I would bet that he never said anything against ABC or the NY TImes.

The view was this is the press's job.
