I don't know politics but at least here in the state of California he will win and for whatever reason I will vote for him. Maybe because he looks cool or something.
But in the end it really doesn't matter. Some other guy or even a girl would suck the same.

no President can be solely blamed for economic failures. I don't blame just President Obama, and actually I blame him very little for most of those facts you listed. For the same reason, I don't do like President Obama and other Dems and put all the blame on President Bush.

I do blame Obama for some outlandish spending (the &787 billion stimulus, Obamacare, etc.).  Mostly, I blame America for electing an unproven leader who has shown how much he lacks in leadership.

But, there are a lot of Obama supporters who will not vote against him. And a lot of independents who will not be swayed by any of the current Republican candidates.

The power of the incumbency is incredibly strong. And Obama raises tons of money. And he can campaign as well as anyone.

For those reasons, in my book, he is still a prohibitive favorite.  Much to my dismay . . . .

The odds for him to win reelection have been only slightly shorter than even money, most books have him at around -110 to -120, the favorite yes, a prohibitive favorite? Not hardly.

I still think it is too close, and there is too much time remaining to call at this point.

I just think that there are too many voters out there who still can't bring themselves to admit that they made a mistake in voting for him in 2008.  Of course, McCain was a weak opponent. Still, it appears that he will run against a weak opponent again in 2012.

President Bush had a similar situation in 2004 but had a couple of things going for him. The incumbency and the fact that America would seldom replace a wartime President. And then he had the chance to beat a weak opponent.

Obama has the incumbency and the fact that he is still a very popular individual when the issues aren't discussed.  Add in the weak opponent and I think he can do what Bush did in '04. Win, maybe not by a huge margin but enough of a margin to make it impressive.

...educated and informed about the issues and the candidates.

Unfortunately, the other 90% of the electorate will be swayed by the TV ads.  That's why Rove and the Koch Bros. are feverishly trying to match Obama's billion $.

Some may just vote for Romney because he looks like a president(?), or like Robertini, they may vote for Obama because "he looks cool or something."

My expectation is the GOP candidate will "educate and inform" the average voter of these issues.

Or the better question is, does the average American believe that Obama owns this economy? A better question might be, who does the average American blame more for the lousy economy?

There's no doubt that Obama has been one hell of a lousy POTUS. But he is one hell of a campaigner. No one on the GOP ticket is ready to campaign in the general except for Romney. So the question becomes, how high does unemployment have to get in order for the American people to elect a greasy haired Mormon flip flopper who got rich throwing people out of work? If the GOP thought this was going to be a cakewalk, why are they making it harder for Democrats to vote?

You mean by doing the dastardly thing of asking that voters be required to show their ID and prove who they are when they vote?

Gee, without that provision, it would be more difficult to write a check at the grocery store than it would be to cast a vote for the next President of the United States.

This belly-aching by the Dems about the so-called "making it difficult for Dems to vote" is absurd.

...BTW, don't forget to comment on how fucking old and ugly she is.  After all, that seems to be the most important factor these days.

...show me a single election where voter fraud (not election fraud mind you) caused an election's results to be flipped? From 2002-2005 only 38 cases of voter fraud was prosecuted, and 14 of those cases were thrown out.

I merely stated that people presenting themselves at the election booth should have to prove their identity with a photo ID.

What is wrong with making people do that?

Of course we all know the Dems are above that type of behavior, yeah right. lol

I guess the are also wanting to limit voting to only people who are actually ALIVE as well. Those bastards. lol

Whether or not he "owns the economy" after 1000 days the question that must be asked is has he proven he can improve the current state of the economy.  I just can't see people believing he is up to the task.
