I'm not talking about Sandusky himself. I'm sure he's a petter ass. And I'm not talking about media coverage of a petter ass at Penn State either. I'd expect it to get a mention.

But what the fuck is with the wall-to-wall media coverage of this shit? Didn't this shit happen years ago? Why are we talking about it now, in the middle of football season?

Look, I can see this being news on the sports pages. But why in the fuck is it the lead story on my news broadcasts? Hell, it's not like this guy is Michael Jackson or something. He's not even a Mark Foley. He's a football coach.

Does he coach a NFL team? Nope, he worked for a fucking University. Was he the head coach for the University? Nope he was the fucking assassitant coach!

This shit just isn't newsworthy. I'm sorry, it's just not. At this point it's just more media exploitation to remove a man's right to an impartisal jury. And everyone should have that right, even a fucking petter ass.

but the real story is the decade(s) long conspiracy to cover this up and it's depth/involvement!
Somethings truly fucked up in 'Happy Valley'!!

This has gone totally beyond the bounds of news coverage-I am certain that Sandusky did it-so let's have a trial-then if people need fired, shot, whatever other than Sandusky that would be the time for that to happen-the Pa. Governor, Etc...have really gone beyond the limits of our laws in my view by getting to Paterno before a trial.  One could almost think there was some sort of vendetta at work here?

much like the banking industry, and "too big to fail." College football programs have gone, in many case, the way of "too big to fail," so what goes on within the programs is closed off from scrutiny and accountability from outside sources.

"bigger," but rather "broader" issue. Pedophilia is a very big issue!

It happens everyday in America and around the world. And a lot of then get off or receive short jail time.

Go over to the Sports board if your more concerned about football.

It has long since stopped being a sports story.  This is a story about terrible abuse of children that took place over many years while a huge, influential institution apparently looked the other way.  Penn State is one of the most powerful and richest institutions in Pa. and its corruption is major news because it is so revered and always had a spotless reputation.  Look the other way, Willy, because this story isn't going away.

...come out until the week after Joe Paterno passed Eddie Robinson of Grambling as the all time winningest coach.  A black commentator brought this up.  I don't know if it was coincidental or paranoia, but it's a viewpoint about the timing that did not occur to me.

Sandusky, it may have been to hold it a day or two to coincide with the off-week in Penn State's football schedule. They knew that if it broke on a Saturday with 100,000-fans in one stadium, that it might lead to problems they did not want to handle.

...he knew he would be facing civil liability at the very least.

This matter has been blown way out of proportion.  The singing over his house matter, that is.
