1992 The Year Galileo Schooled the Catholic Church & Owned them Post-Mortem (Religion:0 Science:382)

If it was completely up to the religious people running the show, it's 100% crystal clear, from historical dates and evidence, that we'd be about 382 years behind in accumulation of basic knowledge related to the understanding of the motion of planets and stars. Blind faith led people to believe that we were the center of the universe. Religion didn't get us anywhere but give us a "feel-good" sensation of well being and self worth. While it's recognized that it's a great brainwash tool to keep society together and look like do-gooders helping one another, it's also the biggest place where religious leaders have their ego trip based on their ego instead of facts. It's also the biggest fashion show on sundays.  Last but not least, religion is the world's most costliest hoax. Trillions of untaxed dollars, most of which goes to church leaders fancy suits, cars, building ever more costly churchs with fancy architectural designs, all the while crucifying and condemning those who reject their beliefs... (but they love you! of course).

Can people ever come out of this mass-delusion of believing in a sun-god?  Where was God when the Catholics burnt Giordano Bruno for his helio-centric theory in 1600?  Why did he have to die for speaking up for heliocentric theory which is now a fact? Where was this Christian / Catholic / Jewish GOD when this man was simply telling the TRUTH?  Where's all the GOOD that religion claims to be doing? It's mostly a cloak for a bigger scam.

All too contradictory for sun-god Catholics to strongly support the geocentric theory yet the sun is where story of Jesus originated from, just goes to show they had abso-fucking-lutely no clue what they were saying, preaching, or doing. Not 600 years ago, not 300 years ago, not now, and never will.  The "pope" of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, will always be issuing apologies as long as they are doing anything contradicting solid scientific evidence and embarrass themselves for many years to come.

Science is several light years ahead of the them all and always will be.  Don't drink the religion kool-aid.

1992: Catholic Church apologizes to Galileo, who died in 1642

http://4thefirsttime.blogspot.se/2007/09/1992-catholic-church-apologizes-to.html

In 1610, Century Italian astronomer/mathematician/inventor Galileo Galilei used a a telescope he built to observe the solar system, and deduced that the planets orbit the sun, not the earth.

This contradicted Church teachings, and some of the clergy accused Galileo of heresy. One friar went to the Inquisition, the Church court that investigated charges of heresy, and formally accused Galileo. (In 1600, a man named Giordano Bruno was convicted of being a heretic for believing that the earth moved around the Sun, and that there were many planets throughout the universe where life existed. Bruno was burnt to death.)

Galileo moved on to other projects. He started writing about ocean tides, but instead of writing a scientific paper, he found it much more interesting to have an imaginary conversation among three fictional characters. One character, who would support Galileo's side of the argument, was brilliant. Another character would be open to either side of the argument. The final character, named Simplicio, was dogmatic and foolish, representing all of Galileo's enemies who ignored any evidence that Galileo was right. Soon, Galileo wrote up a similar dialogue called "Dialogue on the Two Great Systems of the World." This book talked about the Copernican system.

"Dialogue" was an immediate hit with the public, but not, of course, with the Church. The pope suspected that he was the model for Simplicio. He ordered the book banned, and also ordered Galileo to appear before the Inquisition in Rome for the crime of teaching the Copernican theory after being ordered not to do so.

Galileo was 68 years old and sick. Threatened with torture, he publicly confessed that he had been wrong to have said that the Earth moves around the Sun. Legend then has it that after his confession, Galileo quietly whispered "And yet, it moves."

Unlike many less famous prisoners, Galileo was allowed to live under house arrest. Until his death in 1642, he continued to investigate science, and even published a book on force and motion after he had become blind.

The Church eventually lifted the ban on Galileo's Dialogue in 1822, when it was common knowledge that the Earth was not the center of the Universe. Still later, there were statements by the Vatican Council in the early 1960's and in 1979 that implied that Galileo was pardoned, and that he had suffered at the hands of the Church. Finally, in 1992, three years after Galileo Galilei's namesake spacecraft had been launched on its way to Jupiter, the Vatican formally and publicly cleared Galileo of any wrongdoing.

Galileo was always a devout Catholic , like most scientists of his time   .
Daughters faithfully  followed  their Father's  commands  in those days , unlike today  .
 Both of Galieo's daughter's became Nuns .

Nicolaus Copernicus proposed the Sun centered solar system long before Galileo sought fame and bling ,  by using other scientists research  of ancient times ,  methods continually used by many scientists today , plagiarizing  another  scientist's work whether right or wrong and taking  the credit.

It was an astronomer and scientist a hundred years after Christ ,  Ptolemy, an  Egyptian who explained to the Church ,  Earth was the center of the Universe , with the moon , planets and sun revolving around us .
The Newly invented Christian Church was misled by science when blindly accepting Ptolemy's theory as truth .

The real reason Galileo  was placed  under house arrest , Cardinal Maffeo Barberini ,  Galileo's long time friend became Pope Urban Cowboy
Popes  often behave  like many politicians and large land owners of ancient times and today , men  with good intentions  until they are  beneficiaries of power and vast amounts of land  ,  changing them into  ruthless thieves and thugs ,  no longer  tolerant of different opinions or trespassers .

If  you ask  scientists today ,  who invented the telescope , many  will falsely  give  credit to Galileo .

I believe in science and the great things  it does ,

I  believe  Churches  of today do  much  more good than harm , as long as they aren't allowed to rule over Governments or politicians  , exactly how I feel about scientists .

I also believe everyone , including scientists , should never use  wikedpedia as a reliable research source , always confess when they are wrong ,  never  manipulate  facts and data   to show their lies  as real , while putting  their own agenda and profits over truth .

How far can a Polar bear swim before resting on melting  ice ?

Christian oppression.

And what about that dude who was burned alive?

Religion has killed more people than it has "saved".
Their so called "good Samaritan"  image is just a front for world's biggest scam

Nuclear radiation, drug and medical testing... In the ancient world slaves were often used for medical testing. Leading priests and religious men were also leading scientists for thousands of yrs. Tell me again how the church is so bad and science is infallible? http://govtslaves.info/top-10-evil-human-experiments/

"In the early 1990s Takada, who studied radiation effects from tests conducted by the U.S., the former Soviet Union and France, was invited by scientists in Kazakhstan, which borders Xinjiang, to evaluate the hazard from Chinese tests. He devised a computer model to estimate fallout patterns using Soviet records of detonation size and wind velocity as well as radiation levels measured in Kazakhstan from 1995 to 2002. Takada was not allowed into China, so he extrapolated his model and used information about the population density in Xinjiang to estimate that 194,000 people would have died as a result of acute radiation exposure. Around 1.2 million received doses high enough to induce leukemia, solid cancers and fetal damage. “My estimate is a conservative minimum,” Takada says."

"New chemical entities, or NCEs, are drugs that haven’t yet been approved for marketing and sale, but are being tested in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials in India. Most of these drugs, incidentally, are from Big Pharma, huge western corporations.

Between 2010 and 2012, 1542 deaths were reported in these clinical trials."
