What do you consider not far?

A 15 minute drive down Scottsdale road takes you into Kierland and the Scottsdale Quarter.   Several nice restaurants there, ie...Dominic's, Tanzy, ocean club.  White Chocolate Grill is just off the 101 and n. Scottsdale road (about 5-10 minutes from j.w.).  Jw. used to have a Roy's Polynesian that is very good.  Los dos Molinas(sic) in downtown phoenix is a good Mexican restaurant.

I don't know what City North has to offer.  I have only been to blue martini and kona grill there for drinks.  That is about 2 minutes from the jw.  For drinks, just go to the sand bar in desert ridge.

And you can always ask the concierge, lol.

I appreciate the info. Within 15 minute drive works for me. I may take a cab, just in case I decide to have a couple of drinks. I am willing to try any type of cuisine that is different or is a specialty dish. I love a nice porterhouse steak, Tex-mex, seafood etc...

...when I just can't decide where else to eat. It's a chain restaurant, as you know, but the steaks dinners are always good. There used to be a Bahama Breeze in the same area but it seems they must have closed. Otherwise, there are other casual restaurants at that mall including Asian.

Its at the mall. Great steaks.
+1, for Ocean Club, at Kierland. Pricey, though.
At corner, of Bell and Scottsdale are the following:
Maggianos and Capital Grill and Carrabas and Charlstons and Tilted Kilt, incase you need a little 'eye candy'

You can enter zipcode and specify how many miles you will travel.  Additionally, you can reserve your table.

Fantastic seafood, and IMHO the best Creme Brulee in the Valley.

Crème Brûlée addict! I don't think there's a 12-step program for this affliction. Might as well enjoy!

Now fax me some of that sinful yumminess, tout de suite, s'il vous plaît!

Okay, I give, except on Tuesdays when the unbelievably ROCKIN' lobster din-din is 20.00 bucks in N.B.  OMG, what a find!
Dunno nuttin' 'bout whether they have, le crème brûlée though.
