It seems in my talks with other providers, booking assistants, agencies while screening clients that the number of appointment cancellations (especially same day cancellations within mere hours of appt time) is increasing significantly. It is beginning to seem that gents are scheduling with 2-3 ladies for the same day/time to "hedge their bets" in case their first choice flakes. I realize that this is partly caused by flaky ladies. But for those of us who try very hard to maintain our schedules and be reliable and professional it makes scheduling, budgeting, and planning our personal time effectively next to impossible. While most of us require a deposit on longer engagements, it is not current practice to require one for 1-2 hr appts. Rather than turn away potential business by making it a REQUIREMENT...I thought - why not make it an INCENTIVE?

I have an idea and was hoping for some feedback as to how many of you hobbyists would find some value (and comfort) in paying a small non-refundable deposit if that meant a reduced rate and/or preferential scheduling.

For instance my incall rates:
400/hr, 600/90 min, 750/2 hr

If secured with a 100/hr non-refundable deposit for cancellations within 24 hrs would look like this:
350/hr, 525/90 min, 650/2 hr

Thoughts?

I'm a cash only kinda guy... not e-transferring money or giving out CC information as that leaves way too many trails out there... so it would require a face to face to tender the deposit.. seems that has a zero to none chance of being practical... unless you want to send a runner to collect the deposits.. he could probably double up as a numbers runner or bookie to make it financially feasible, eh ?

Then he has a credit of the full amount. AND (I am sure you could inquire of any of the gents that I have ever cancelled/rescheduled with) if we cannot agree on a different time later in the day or that same week...I am the FIRST to offer a 90 min session for the price of an hour. And I always keep my word. It is just good business. I respect your time but things DO sometimes come up...it just doesn't feel lately like the gents value our time the same as we do theirs.

Even when my boyfriend was diagnosed with Cancer and had immediate emergency surgery to remove the mass...I still felt obligated to give extra time free to the people that I had to cancel on last minute. It is mentioned in some of my reviews.

Greendot cards can be purchased with cash at WalMart and CVS stores...and the lady can transfer those funds to her account via paypal. Completely autonomous transaction!

Madison is on to something with Green dot card. It may be the safer way to go with all the craziness in Phx.
The hobbyists and providers need to change things up now!  If no paper trail, including cash. Then the clowns have nothing on you.

Both your original post and your replies assume the only problem Is the guys. You want to fix it with a deposit only you control on the premise that you are trustworthy and your clients are not. I am not saying you aren't but a solution will be neutral or it won't be equitable.

Actually, it's an "anonymous" transaction, and the reason I point it out is that I think Maddie has a very good and fair idea.   Personally, I can vouch for her integrity and honesty, AND SEXXINESS, and she's been a great friend for several years, though I only reviewed her recently.

I am proposing a meeting of the minds...I never said this would be a requirement, just offered it as an INCENTIVE for those gentleman who DO intend to keep their appts...

My rate is my rate...HOWEVER...if you would like to insure that appointment time you will be afforded a reduced rate.

And I don't double or triple book.  Neither are my style. But Over the years I've been NCNS'd and cancelled on, at the last minute.  But why don't you give the deposit scenario a try, it might work for you. If you find it negatively effects your business you can always drop it.

That is why I don't intend to make it a requirement...it offers a discount to those wanting to take advantage of it but is not a requirement for booking. I will still require standard deposit on longer multi-hour engagements but this is merely an option for shorter appointments.

Just handle it, like a regular date and leave the card discreetly for the lady. It's ways of doing it discreetly and no one would know but you guys.  This would include a lady making sure the card is legit in private, while on the date.

I think providers in this area should start requesting this option!

I am sorry and besides that bs comment about LV. The providers in this state are going to have to  think of better deals, bringing hobbyist into this state or keep them coming back locally. I think more people will cancel on their dates, when hearing about this bs law!

The things going on now in this state are crazy! Just think if a person in this hobby has a choice of coming here and worried about the scumbag officials or dealing with less pressure somewhere else? They will go to a place with less hassles or problems.  If you are a local person and want to support the area, maybe you should be giving a discount for living in the area. What about a hobbyist on vacation and wants to play, but thinks twice now with this new law?  How are you going to bring him or her into your hobby business?

Some ladies may feel they earned the gift rates and most have, but looking over your shoulder or worried what a lady will do with your information is not fun either for your customer.

So this new law is different from before and I love this area, but just like any business that has problems.  If you don't start offering real deals during, this trouble time. You won't have a business in the long run.  Most hobbyist will take their extra gift dollars somewhere else to find play dates.

This is not directed at any one provider!  It's just something for everybody to think about going forward,  in the future until things cool down!

" It is beginning to seem that gents are scheduling with 2-3 ladies for the same day/time to "hedge their bets" in case their first choice flakes"

You idea seems as if it would reduce your risk of cancellations due to hedging. But, if hedging is not the cause of the perceived increase, you will have to weigh negative consequences of that policy. You will have to deal with people canceling at 23 hours, and some claiming special circumstances beyond their control.

Another thought is how much of an incentive is a $50 savings for those who can afford $400/hr?

How would funds be transferred to you that do not increase risk to either of you? That transfer might have to be almost as easy as cash in an envelope presented as a donation?

Test marketing for a limited time might yield results you can base making a policy decision?

Can shit happen, or life happen?  Yes.
It's just me, but it depends on the lady I'd seeing.  Would I trust Madison with a deposit?  In a heart beat, especially if it results in a win-win situation

I think it's a great idea!! In a heartbeat I would do it with a reputable lady. I think Maddie fits the bill even though I have never met her but hope to remedy that the next trip she has to Philly!!

Personally, I would consider a $100 pre-pay if it was worth $200 toward the full hour price.
You can try it and see what kind of response there is.

I think it certainly can't hurt for me to try my idea out. I am not requiring anything of clients who are opposed to deposits...only offering an incentive to those who know themselves to be consistently reliable. I spoke with a provider from another market who has had significant success with a similar model which she said has made both her and her clients hold themselves more accountable to scheduling which has ultimately simplified her life in that she can more responsibly utilize her own time management.

For my regulars who are looking for consistent savings rather than having to watch the boards for posted specials...keep an eye out for my announcement once I have the details worked out.
