Relationships can be very complicated in their workings...or none workings. When people are very close they learn a lot about each other, including which buttons to push to reward, punish, make a point or put someone in their place. For whatever reason your wife was using one of the most common buttons in the book to get to you. Sounds like she got what she deserved ;o)
