So the Eros call center in NC was raided on the 7th. They confiscated all files. As the only place I advertise that requires my ID aka drivers license in the US (P411 IS BASED IN CANADA), I am uncomfortable. It was raided by homeland security. If googled you can get more information. Just thought providers might want to know if they didn't already.
I liked how eros did things. I knew I would be safe due to the care they took in screening.
I am not too sure that a call center would house such sensitive files. People tweeted about the news and I chose to ignore it but now that you mention homeland security I will do some research to find out what's happening.
Whatever the case may be, if homeland security is involved there must be an agenda behind it. Maybe the raid occurred to collect evidence to support USCIS' alien and citizenship legislation. Or maybe there is reason to believe that someone at Eros is doing something shady enough to threaten cybersecurity.
So I read up on a couple of things but there is not much information being offered. I highly doubt that this has anything to do with uncovering identities or individual cases. Plus, our personal information has already been in the hands of the FBI since we were born so there isn't much to fret about. I would be more concerned with Maxine Doogan speaking to the media and offering 411 on her clients as to what they use Eros for.
If anyone is ever concerned about what records the FBI has, the freedom of information act allows you to exercise the right to know that's in your record.
