Possession of a phone?

camrobbie2120 reads

hello, new to the board. just a question of what happen if your provider got caught and she gave your phone number among with others to the law. can they come after you. thanks in advane.

the US Congress will come to your defense.

If you are of the same sex, you're toast.

They may or may not.  Most likely the latter since it isn't worth the DA's time to prosecute with only the testimony of the provider.

If they do contact you remember one thing.  In most situations, it is the lying that gets you in trouble.  You've committed a crime and the Constitution protects you from having to admit it.  Simply tell them that you will only speak with counsel present.  If you need to get counsel do so, but in all likelihood this will get them to go away.  The only caveat I would offer is if it involved an agency where the criminal penalties are substantial and they will go to great effort to get a conviction.  But again, the Constitution protects you from self-incrimination.

"Who?  Never heard of her.  Are you sure you have the correct phone number?  Just because it is in her cell phone doesn't mean she did not enter the wrong number."
