Sorry, OP. You're right Gag, that was a bad reply, and

It usually means she is dressed provocatively and does not want to risk a random passer by seeing her dressed that way.  But even if she is dressed demurely she might not want anyone to start wondering why this woman is entertaining a man in her room.  The first time you experience this it might seem like she's trying to hide something behind that door.  But I've never had a bad surprise.  Usually the result is the door closes behind me and a warm willing woman is in my arms.

Lol's I'm female and they do it to me too. Discretion seems to be the key motivation behind the peek-a-boo from behind the door.

Had to chuckle at your response; very creative.

of the newbie board.
That was a pretty fucking rude reply coming from you of all people. WTF? Somebody hack your account?

For some reason, that term just doesn't seem accurate to me.  Maybe because "hiding" to me implies some sort of underhandedness, deception, and so on.

A recent review of mine stated just that, "she was hiding behind the door", and to me that could also sound as though I were crouched in trepidation, as though I'm not the confidant person I am.  And that just chaps my ass.

Pure semantics, I know, but this is just one of my idiosyncrasies (and we all have our quirks)....  ;-)

As everyone else as already stated, I am cautious not to reveal myself while opening the door for simple discretion.

I STAND (with very good posture, I might add) in back of the door as I swing it open, making sure that I am not visible to anyone in the hallway (usually housekeeping) as my attire might raise eyebrows.
Even a passerby in the hotel hallway might wonder why I'm fully glammed up & wearing a revealing cocktail dress at 8:00am
on a Tuesday.

Drunk or otherwise, as the host of this board, I think you owe the OP an apology.

I of all people know it's tough to moderate/host this board and be "nice" on every post, which is the reason I stepped down as the mod of this board and handed the reins over to you oh so many years ago. Maybe this is a sign that you should consider doing the same?

If he had to ask that question, he may not be ready yet to play in this risky game. Especially if he has a wife or SO where discretion and secrecy are essential for survival.

This is supposed to be a board where there are no dumb questions, and where newbs can ask questions with being made to look foolish, ESPECIALLY from the host of this board.

The last thing we want to do is discourage newbs from asking questions, that's why this board exists.

and to answer your actual question. It's not so much that they are "hiding" being discrete is a more accurate way of putting it for the obvious reason of someone else besides you getting an eyeful.

You are a newbie. This is what the newbie board is for. If you didn't know the answer then it wasn't a dumb question. What seems obvious to some people is not obvious to others. We try to be nice here, and say there are no dumb questions. Swimtrekr, as the host, sets an example. He has chastised others for being mean or rude on the newbie board. This was totally out of character for him and he most certainly does owe you (and the board) an apology!

I bet you number one, Swim was PUI when he made that post. Number two, he is still sleeping it off and that's why we have not heard from him today, and number three, he will apologize when he finally sobers up and reads what he posted.

Do you think I have hit the trifecta here?

I'm never too clear on these terms.   I do know the Trifecta and Superfecta payouts for the Derby yesterday were on the low side.  :-)

I am "all in" with you on all 3 parts, not betting against you. :)

I do apologize to the OP.  I don't know what bee got up my ass last night.  And I don't know why I gave that reply.

I do think a little common sense would tell the OP that if a provider is naked or nearly naked, she does not want any other persons who might be in the hall to accidently see her in that state of undress.

And to all the patrons of this board, I apologize for my inappropriate reply.

Thanks to GaGambler for calling me out on it, I deserved that.

LLAP,
Swim

The payouts were not too high yesterday. The only way that you are going to get Trifectas in the thousands of dollars is if the favorite "runs out" IOW finishes completely out of the money.

and yes, what I described was actually a parlay and not a trifecta, you caught me taking a little "poetic license" by calling it a trifecta. My bad. lol

Were you PUI when you did it?

Before you answer, remember there is money at stake. lol

Swim's eloquent apology came AFTER GaG's call for one.  In other words, there had been no word from swim after his first post on this thread, when a need for an apology was first mentioned.

It's hard to keep track of the chronological order of the posts here, though, I know I get confused all the time.  :-)
