Re: Why is it so wrong or sinister for the OP to ask this question on this board?

I am gonna ask several questions because I am a total newbie and just learning more about this whole new world and want to learn more about providers, because I am fascinated.  What do providers love/hate about being providers?  Does being self employed make the provider lifestyle more attractive?   And, is being a provider something you plan to do the rest of your working life, or is there a window of opportunity during which this will be your profession?

Please do not feel obligated to answer each and every question, just trying to generate some talking points.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Really?  Why don't you schedule time with several providers ,pay them for their time and ask them? You may actually get more answers. Maybe some providers have nothing better to do with their time than to answer these questions in a post.

First, I want to go into the encounter in such a way as to provide a good experience for both of us.  Second, I am a total newbie and very curious.

It's an anonymous board and it's certainly got the right people to ask. I'm just wondering why he shouldn't ask.  I'm not quarreling, just not obvious to me why. I wouldn't mind hearing the answers to his questions, or hearing specifically why it's wrong to ask.

Plus, in various threads on the General Board providers have made comments that are indirectly responsive to these questions, so it would seem not to be taboo to discuss.  For instance, I've seen mention of great money, free time, make own hours, freedom to enjoy sex, freedom to enjoy freedom, etc.

Apparently I'm not the soul of discretion, so I might be missing something obvious to others, so again, I'm just asking.

I don't think it is wrong to ask the questions and I was not attributing any sinister motives. The questions appeared to be posed by someone who was doing research for some project rather than curiosity The information could have been gathered in a more meaningful and authentic way by actually seeing providers. Plus that research methodology would be both pleasurable and informative, though not free.

Looks like the 2nd paragraph of your response pretty much sums up what I would assume are the obvious answers. BTW, no provider so far has posted a serious reply to questions which tells you what they think about them.

contacts, then maybe we would get frank responses not based on marketing etc.  Just a thought.

I guess there is something unethical about a researcher who does not identify themselves as such. But if they identify themselves, this sure would be the place to take a survey!  I recall that one of our esteemed members assisted a researcher in polling the 60&Over monger crowd a while back, all on the up and up.

No research project.  I am totally new and these are things I have always wondered from a distance.  If the providers take offense, I apologize.

on this site as a way of marketing, and surely some go on about how much they love f*cking anything that walks in the door because it's just so much fun. That is not at all derogatory, just a realistic speculation about how marketing works. This business is about feel-good illusions, isn't it?  If a provider posted her views under an alias that does not trace back to her marketing name, then she could say whatever is on her mind without worrying whether it would decrease business. I'm not interested in micromanaging you, I am interested in learning unvarnished viewpoints.

I had not thought of it, but maybe I need to quit my job and ask questions on this forum so I can get enough info to start an escort blog, book, or documentary:)  Seriously, I was just curious and apologize if I offended any providers.  But, I have seen many more direct and less tasteful questions asked on this board.

Julia, I can think of only two schools where they might offer such a degree: Morehead State in Kentucky and the University of South Carolina, known for it's fighting Cocks:)
