I'm a new provider and would like to know the best way to screen that is not too intrusive to the hobbyist.

We have a great group of guys and gals here willing to help.  Just remember, if you want to post a link to your own website on one of TER's boards, you have to display a TER badge or banner on one of the first 2 pages of your site.
