Mystified

Hi All,

First time post and all around newbie to this sub culture. I've read almost everything in the Newbie posts including the do's and dont's, customs of the trade and so on. I've made an appointment to see my first provider but something didn't happen that I expected would happen. First of all she has pretty good reviews in ter, has a web site, email, and phone number. I contacted her by email to set up the appointment and several back and forth messages later time and date is set. What I expected was a request for references and other screening methods common to the trade. I even asked in the last email if there was anything else she needed from me before our appointment and the answer was no. The only thing I'm supposed to do is contact her the day of the appointment to get the location for the incall.

Question: Am I being paranoid for no good reason? The appointment is not for a couple of days yet so I have time to ask this question.

Comments please..........

Thank You

Not knowing what city you are in and, of course, who the lady is, does present an info shortage. However, if you say she has good reviews on TER and they are over a period of time, that is some verification of credibility. If you are still concerned, why not email her and ask why she didn't request references (does her web site state that references are required?). Although I would be a bit cautious of someone who does not ask for references of some kind (provider or work), it's up to you and how you feel. As your first time, I can understand how you'd be nervous. Email her and ask the question.

You haven't really said what you might have revealed about yourself in the "several back and forths," but if all she has is your email address, I'd be concerned. With a TER VIP account you might get some helpful advice and feedback, regarding her, from PMing the guys that reviewed her. I personally would not want to walk into a situation where I don't feel the lady knows that I'm legit.

I'm a little mystified myself.
I have a few questions though.
Did she know you were a newbie?
What did you share with her in the back and forth emails? Was there screening value in them?
I know when it comes to screening a newbie, outside of any ref screening, I ask a few more questions and most times request a conversation by phone.
After this type of screening I can make a judgment.
I agree that you should ask her how she screened you.

Good Luck

No matter how well she is reviewed you can never be to careful for your sake!

You stated you had some back/forth emails. You could have given her enough info on those for her to do some background on you or at least enough to satisfy her. Hard for me to tell with what info you have given in this post.

You also say you are to contact her the day of the appointment. I would assume then she has given you her phone number?? So have you two talked by phone? If so then maybe through phone i.d. she verified you even further.

Bottom line if you don't think she has screened you then you better ask her why? With LE on the prowl a little more of late I find it hard to believe this lady would see you unless she was sure that you were a safe person.

If she's got a good history of reviews, I wouldn't be too concerned. Every woman screens differently. Some areas of the country are not as amenable to the reference system, so some ladies - like myself - find other ways to screen clients. If she has been around a while though, then clearly she is doing something right.

I revealed the following in 3 email exchanges: (btw the email address i used is one of about 6 that I have set up)

Email #1
I was new to this
I needed some loving attention
I did my homework on TER looking at her reviews and her web site
I thought she was the kind of provider I was looking for
The week I would like to make the appointment

Email #2
Answered her reply as to her availability
I gave her the exact time and day

Email #3
Answered her query about whether or not I wanted an Incall or Outcall

Email #4
Confirmed her instructions to call the day of for directions and I was looking forward to meeting her.

That's all the emails contained.

Thank you all for the feedback so far.

Where I come from, the screening/verification process (done by agencies and independent ladies alike) consists of nothing more than your full name, contact no. and the hotel you are staying at. People here are more concerned about pranksters than sociopaths, I guess. I am new to this and after learning how thorough people screen in the US, I thought, no way it could work in my home country. Most guys here would even stall at giving your their real name!
I think if the lady you contacted does not insist on going through a screening process, it could possibly mean that either she is a trusty person and has a good feeling about you or she is ignorant or careless...

I get mixed screening from the providers. Of course we worry too and do our homework. We were all newbies without a reference at one time or another.

Thanks to all for the input. I've asked the prospective provider the question about screening and she answered almost immediately and I found 5 more excellent reviews over a span of 3 weeks. I'm reasonably comfortable with this now. Let the good times roll!
