Notwithstanding my last message, here is my "Newbie" question:

How "safe" IN YOUR OPINION are:

1. LFK
2. DFK
3. BBBJ
4. DATY
5. RIM
6. Covered Heterosexual Sex
7. Uncovered Heterosexual Sex
8. Covered Greek
9. Uncovered Greek

(For the following STD's: AIDS, Chlymidia, Ghonoreah, Syphliss, Mono, Any other you might want to add - I mean are some activities "safer than others")... Let's assume between consenting heterosexual adults. She is an active provider, He is a hobbist. What is the common wisdom?

I am very interested in your sincere answers.

LFK and DFK are relatively low risk. There's more likely to be some noticable outward signs of infection than in other situations (though it's definitely not a guarantee). Infections you'd get from mouth to mouth contact are also probably not going to be something particularly serious. Of course, things depend on what other things the two of you do with your mouths, and if either has an open sore on the gums, the risk goes up. DFK carries a (slightly) higher risk, if for nothing else than duration and extent of contact.

Next up in risk would be DATY and BBBJ. Roughly equal in risk, I'd say the recipient would be slightly less at risk than the giver. I'd wager that infections that could be transferred by such contact are more likely to be on that end. Again, it depends on how careful the participants are in general. Open wounds/sores become a bigger no-no here, because another fluid that carries more serious diseases has been added to the equation.

Rim can vary widely based on cleanliness. You lose some (small ammount) of the risk associated with BBBJ/DATY, but gain other risks specific to this area. Everybody's digestive tract carries significant ammounts of bacteria that can pose a risk to others, making this the only activity (in most situations) that can leave one person sick when neither had any diseases to begin with. If you're going for this, make sure there's been significant cleaning, and, again, you don't want to leave an avenue into the blood stream open with a wound (just assume this comment on the rest, I'll leave it out from here on).

Covered Sex is in the same ballpark as the oral activities. I'd say risk of infection in general is lower than unprotected oral, there's a higher risk that any infection would be a serious one. There's always a risk of damage or defect in the cover, making the risk the same a uncovered. There are also some infections that, while not typically life threatening, can still be tranmitted by surface contact of surrounding areas.

Uncovered Sex is riskier than all of the above, both in terms of chance of infection in general and potential seriousness of infection. Non STD related problems come up as well, with various levels of seriousness ranging from clean-up issues to allergic reaction to pregnancy.

Uncovered greek poses the most significant risk. You have basically the same infection risks of uncovered sex, but moreso. Tearing is very likely (even if it's just unnoticable micro-tears), meaning you've got blood in the equation (even if you can't see it, it's likely still there, just a small ammount). Blood can carry its own set of pathogens, some that can be transmitted by other fluids/contact, some that are unique to blood. That's a significant increase in the risk of infection. You're also adding in digestive tract bacteria, depending on cleanliness, though the risk here is less than that from rim.

Not sure exactly where covered Greek falls, but it'd be either between covered and uncovered sex, or between uncovered sex and greek. Basically the risks of greek but less so.

Personally, I'd consider the risks of LFK, DFK, BBBJ, DATY, and covered sex acceptable, depending on the provider.

The most dangerous stuff is viruses (blood), second is bacteria.

Now, anything uncovered leaves you exposed to both.  You are more likely to come in contact with blood with greek.  You are also more likely to come in contact with bacteria through anything involving the anus.

I won't do uncovered vaginal or anal sex obviously and I don't see women who do rimming or ATM.  I do greek once in a while only with the right woman.

The most dangerous things I partake in are BBBJ and DATY if both of us are willing to take the risks and are comfortable with each other.
