I use it when I'm going to a strange city and want to find someone there.

 
I go to the review filters, put down what I want, and out pop a bunch of profiles where I can research further.

 
By the way, you do not set up your profile, that is done by the first person who reviews you.   I strongly subtest that you read through all the manuals you'll find linked to the top of this page so you know all the ins and outs of the site.   It can be complicated.
