My bad; I didn't see the rest of impposter's post under the quote. (E)

Was just about to send a provider a PM. From her profile, when I hit send pm and a new window opens with the blank message, I notice that where it says to: it's a totally different name. I ain't talking about a different spelling or an underscore added, it's a completely different name. Closed it, and refreshed the profile and it's the same name again when I try to pm. Just who the hell is gonna get the message? I don't want to fuck a stranger in the ass because some messaging wires are getting crossed and the wrong people are getting the wrong pm's.

WTF?? Is there a logical explanation for this? I've pm'd several folks here before and never seen nothing like this.

Thanks.

Each TER member has a "handle." My handle is impposter. Your handle in Walter_Sobchak. A Provider might have a handle such as "FriendliestEscortInTuscaloosa." But that Provider's PROFILE name is her actual escorting name, e.g., "Ramona" or "Sweet Marie."

When you PM, you are PMing her handle name, not her Provider name. That could account for the discrepancy you see.

Another possibility is that she works for an agency and doesn't even have her own TER account and handle.  Her TER Profile name is "Mary" but the PMs go to the agency that does the TER postings (ads, etc.). From her Profile, you "Send PM" but get "Hot Chili Pepper Girls" as the recipient of the PM.

In rare cases, a Provider might retire and give her Profile and handle to a replacement. But that's not the discrepancy you describe.

(You are talking about TER PM and not her personal email at gmail.com or yahoo.com or hushmail.com ..., right?)

Suggestion: Take note of the PM handle, e.g., "FriendliestEscortInTuscaloosa." Go the General Board, her local board (closest to Tuscaloosa or wherever she hosts) and her local ad board.  SEARCH each of those three boards for author = FriendliestEscortInTucaloosa for the past 300 days or so. If she has posts and if she has a yellow envelope under her handle in the posts, that will also launch a PM window with her handle in the box.

Or, post or PM me the TER ID / name and I'll see what I can figure out for you.

...so the "To:" in the PM should be the same as the name of the profile.

the same as any member...  which may be different that their provider name.
When they get a review, their provider profile is set up.
The provider can (but is not required to) message TER to get the accounts linked.  Most link their accounts, because there are benifits.  Free limited VIP.  Can read their own reviews fully.  Access to the PM system.
I'm not a provider so can't give details, but I think you'll find this provider has a different handle.

There's no correlation that's required between a provider's profile name and their handle (used for PMs and posting).

Usually they're close, if not the same.  But not always.

Imposter is correct. A PM always goes to a handle. It doesn't matter if you click the yellow envelope under a post, Click on the "send PM" button on a profile, or type it in the "to" field of the PM window.
