the question of tour advice is very open-ended which would allow for answers to go in various directions. Are there specific themes within the "touring" subject you want advice on? Like how to pick the touring location(s)? Hotels vs. Airbnbs? Researching hotels and Airbnbs?  Adjusting rates? How to pack? What to pack? When and where to advertise (can change based on location)?

You are right about the Q being pretty open ended. But I'll start with something specific because it has come up in the past as a Newbie touring Q.
.
If you are just beginning to tour, start with some place close to your home town, i.e., a few hours driving distance. If things don't go well (no shows, lost your wallet, etc.) you can cut your losses to a tank of gas. Also, if you need help for any reasons ("Forgot my Louboutins!", lost your wallet), a friend in your home town can come to your rescue in a few hours on short notice. As "you" (any Newbie reading this) get more comfortable learning the ins and outs of traveling with a suitcase full of sex toys, how to get around hotels, key cards, etc., you can extend your range.
.
E.g., if you are based in Boston, tour to Hartford. Then to NY. Then extend to Baltimore or DC. Then Atlanta. ... Then LA. ... Then Tokyo and Dubai!
