For all you newbies out there, please take a minute and read this thread. There is a right way, and a wrong way, to go about getting a date.

There is discretion and there is paranoia. Please understand that most women just want to be safe. There is a small, small, small percentage of women who would ever use your information for any nefarious reason. Please take a minute to read this thread and understand that complaining about the measures we take to ensure our safety is juvenile and not appreciated.

Lots of tickles

You are a fool if you give an escort your drivers license number.

And no where in my post does it say that I did. I don't get your comment.

''But I have just been in contact with someone who uses this board (different region) who says references aren't enough and she is asking for all the following: Full name, employment info, date of birth, city of birth, driver's license number.''
Kiber had this quote and it was linked to  your post as you said to refer to it.
It would be very dumb to give it out and I would not hesitate to tell the girl she is looking for fools if she required that step in screening.

I don't ask for DL#'s either. Does me no good.
But there are some things I ask, and that is from past experience with people who had no provider references. It's worked for me, and never had a problem with it.

Each provider requires whatever information they feel comfortable with for prescreening.

If you are uncomfortable with what a provider asks for, move on... find someone who requires only the information that you will give.

It makes little sense to berate a provider for her prescreening requirements.  After all, its her safety that is at stake.

Also, if you stick with well-reviewed, ethical providers you should have no concerns about prescreening as the information is only to ease her mind and make her comfortable.  If you decide to meet with an unknown provider.. you take your chances.

kiber doesn't need me to defend him, so I won't...

I will say this - Sometimes guys see this TER Forum, and want use it to discuss the 'hobby' and topics related to it. We can't go down to the corner bar and start a conversation about 'screening methods of prostitutes.' It seems like a perfect place to ask the questions that have always been in your mind, but had no to share with.

Having a place such as this to have frank discussions is really a big part of the fun of TER. Beyond just reviews, it makes a community. But like any community, this one has developed a culture of its own.

Newbies might think that a board devoted to prostitution would be very 'liberal' in its viewpoints, and that people with controversial points of view would be welcomed. At TER, this is far from true. In fact, TER has a certain 'code of conduct' that if you stray from, you will be ridiculed.

Asking questions such as 'Why would a provider want such detailed info', or 'If pornstars can do BB, why can't providers,' gets you shot down. No discussion occurs, instead the conversation goes along the lines of 'I can't believe he asked such a stupid question.'

This board is what it is, and is probably this way because it reflects the fact that a lot of providers post on it, not just hobbyists. I am NOT lobbying for change, just remarking on what I see as a TER culture.
