I guess the rule about spamming via PM doesn't apply to "TER support"
I just got a PM from TER Admin about the Lux verification app. TER Recommended.
Anybody else get that PM? Anybody know about Lux? Is it free or fee? Opinions on installing an app like that on your phone?I too have even less than zero interest in the app, free or otherwise.
...it was an apprentice but that doesn't appease me; he should app-ologize because the app simply does not appeal to me. I appreciate and applaud TER's interest but that app is just not appetizing.
TER should apply themselves to improving their website because it appears that they apparently have a lot of time to send out unwanted PMs.
As I am moderated, I can only approximate when this post will be approved. Hopefully, I will be apprised and that my post will be given much approbation.
It's the first time I have ever seen them do something like that. Makes you wonder what's in it for them. I didn't look into the app but I'm guessing it's a for pay thing and TER gets a kickback. It's bad enough it's been on the right of the GD board screen for the past 6 months, (maybe you guys on classic don't see it), but now they're sending us promotional PMs
...not interested. I delete spam.
...I guess it'll post eventually.
I don't want the app, or need it. But I don't really object to getting the message. I have no problem in saying "no thanks, not interested" to anything or anybody.
As long as these kinds of "adds" don't become persistent, I don't really care. What's wrong with anyone trying to get a little more income? And if TER does profit from getting people to sign up, don't the rest of us benefit indirectly somehow? Besides, there are probably some members who enjoy getting at least some mail--no matter what it's about. I for one though am way beyond that stage of my lifeI'd filed a report thinking it was spam from a profile named "TERSupport" but alas, TER Customer Support acknowledged they intentionally sent it.
In the past, they've been proactive about shutting down spam from others; guess the piper has to be paid at some point. Wonder how much of a kickback they got? Doubtful anyone will quit using TER just because of this, so the risk is fairly low while the upside must have been worth the hassle of dealing with a few complaint emails and the general populace feeling used. Seems like if they really wanted to make it work, they'd offer a discount code good for 50% off the first year's membership to all who sign up within a week of getting the TER spam about it. But the perceived value of the Lux Verify app is not worth even that price to me.Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
We thank you for your purchase!
