I am not a newbie but the process of white listing is rather recent and while I have a good 'local' reputation, it would be useful to be whitelisted. A provider (well reviewed on TER) would like to white list me but she told me she can't figure out how to do it.   I looked at the site but it does not seem the information is clearly available (probably need to be a provider?).  Are there simple instructions for this procedure?  I have used an alias to avoid connecting this all to the provider if the information eventually becomes clear.  She told me that we could try to figure it out together when I see her next (sounds fun!) but perhaps it is really simple.

Please forgive me for answering my own question...sometimes I can be a bit slow...anyhow, maybe this is useful for others.

I'M A PROVIDER, HOW DO I SUBMIT A REFERRAL?
Go to Reviews and click "Search White List" Type either the user name or e-mail address and click "Submit." When the user's White List appears, click on the button that says "Submit referral." It's that easy.

Does whitelisting even help?  What are the advantages to having a whitelist?  The provider would still want to know your references and work info any way.

That's a question I have asked before without response.  Theoretically, it may suffice as a reference.  At least, it would be handy list of providers who would be willing to give a reference, with their contact info readily available, but only for other ladies with a TER presence.

This minimal benefit may be offset by the "white knight" reputation a whitelisted hobbyist could acquire.

Very interesting.  It sounds like there are potential benefits among the TER community.

But remember that providers like references from recent visits to other providers. If your whitelist on TER has 4 ladies on it and the last one was 9 months ago it may not be any good at all. A lot can happen in 9 months and the hobbyist could be a totally different person than before.

If you ask every provider to whitelist you, and they agree. If you keep current, then it has the potential to be a good thing, otherwise it is just a list of names of providers that agree that you spent time with them.

Good point B. I've found recent visits have been most responsive. Although, I still have no reviews, as I'm new to this site -- I need to get off of my ass and do some work.

2. Click "search by reviewers."
3. Type in name of user you wish to whitelist & click OK.
4. Go to the bottom right hand corner of the next screen.  Hit "submit referral."
5. Hit "add referral"/"submit."
