Every single one of us was a newbie once. How did you learn? Be kind and it will be returned to you Tenfold.

Being harsh to a newbie is uncalled for.

He may not want to come back because of what was said.

There is a time and place for being blunt.

F'ing or Freaking would have been a better choice of words.

I know that this is the #1 redundant question on the board, but a little patience is appreciated.

No is saying that you have to be totally PC, but please watch the tone.

Officially, no harm, no foul.

As a newby, it is extremely helpful when someone just points me in the right direction so I can get the answer for myself. I'm not asking to be spoonfed the answers.

Yes, I understand that everyone is a newbie once. For most of us we had to learn the hard way (before the internet). We were subjected to phone books and sex magazines. A lot more difficult to say the least.

However, it does get tiresome when EVERYDAY  some other new hobbyist asks what a particular code or Acronym stands for and EVERYDAY we point him to the appropriate link only to discover that the next newbie asks YET AGAIN what another code or acronym stands for. Do any of you guys actually read prior postings and responses to gather information before asking the same question over and over again???

But the bottom line, although I may have been harsh and direct in my answer to him, I did point our new hobbyist to the APPROPRIATE LINK and provided him with the answer he sought.

I don't think we have a welcome letter from staff when a newbie first joins. I thought it might be a good idea rather than hearing some long standing hobbyist getting upset at said newbies.
Just a suggestion. :)
