Recently I inadvertently shorted one of my favorite providers $20 on a 90 minute appointment. I immediately made it up to her and all is well ...but I'm interested in the way others would typically interpret a 90 minute rate when only 30 minute and 60 minute rates are explicitly stated on a website? Is 90 = 60 + 30... OR is 90 = 60 + (1/2)(60)?
I was under the impression that a 30 minute rate applies only for short appointments lasting just 30 minutes...apparently it's incorrect to assume this?-- Modified on 6/27/2016 11:26:02 AM
will ask her what her 90 minute rate is rather than guess. I prefer 90 minute encounters over a 1-hr. time frame with providers I have not seen previously.
You are new and still learning so your faux pas is understandable.
For other newbies here in this scenario going forward, just ask. I would say something like: "I see your 1 hour and 2 hour rate posted on your site. Can I assume your 90 minute rate is halfway between both? I wanted to make sure it was correct before we meet." She will either agree or correct you. That will give you peace of mind.Lots of gal parcel their time out by the hour to keep things simple, so booking for 90 minutes or 2 hour is the same to her, as far as maximizing the benefit of her time
st, yes, usually a 30 minute rate applies to the first 30 minutes only . If you book a 30 minute rate, you are expected to be done/out within the 30 minutes.
Second, as an overview, you will never figure out provider rates. Don't even try. There is often no rhyme or reason as to a rate structure.

Good point, although I haven't run into this. If this were the case, I would hope a provider would mention it if a client attempts to schedule a 90 minute appointment.
Maybe Shakingthesheets was reading my mind and posting for me?
Of course the other replies were also correct....I too prefer 90 minutes and each lady has her own business model so the only way to know is to ask.
the 90min rate is slightly above 1.5 times the 60min rate. With that said, many providers will run periodic "specials" where the 90min rate is LESS than 1.5 times the one-hour rate. I always look for these because they are good value. They are quite common with Thai providers.
