Here in the UK, where the laws re prostitution are much more reasonable, there are even TV shows devoted to the subject.

This fall, "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" is on the air.  It's based on the published diaries of Belle de Jour, a retired(?) high class London escort, and provides great insights on the life of a provider.

unlikely.  It probably has more to do with who has the rights to show it outside the UK.

  This is a very well produced, interesting and titillating program. Parts are possibly a bit glamorized; but then it’s the puritanical antiquity of U.S. morality laws that taint the profession here with the insalubrious dynamics found of illegality.

 Frank language, believable scenarios, beautiful women in various levels of undress to nude, and graphic soft core sex.
