Hello my pearls,

How are you? I’ve missed you all J. This summer I got the chance to feed my adventurous spirit and traveled through Europe the month of July and I can honestly say I’ve never had so much fun! If you've never been outside of the US of A, I strongly encourage you to pack a bag, pick a place on a map, and get your butt on a plane! Take the opportunity to explore the world, learn something new, experience and see the world through the eyes of others.

After several hours on a plane I finally arrived in Amsterdam. We all know Amsterdam is well known for its relaxed views on marijuana but there’s so much more to this beautiful city. I enjoyed incredible food (the strawberry tarts were so fresh and the Berlinerbol chocolade (a chocolate covered pastry) were out of this world.  I was impressed by the ease of public transportation and how many people got around by bike and small boats; it just all seemed so ‘clean’ so I took the opportunity to stroll through the city. I spent my first evening dinning outside Café Americain, watching the people cross the beautiful bridges that seem to be everywhere and lovely architecture. An insider tip, the Sea Bass was incredible! Of course I had to stop by the ‘Sex Shop’ and yes, that’s the actual name of the place to feed my inner seductresses curiosity. Will I tell you what I found? Well, where’s the fun in that? LOL.

I then moved on to Noordwijk, Netherlands and was tickled pink by the alternative menu available in McDonalds menu. Have you ever heard of the McKroket? It’s a deep friend roll with beef ragout. Personally I'm a vegetarian but isn’t it fascinating how the McDonalds you drive by every day has a completely different menu in another country? Well, I’m loving it … lol. I took advantage of the chance to visit the beautiful beaches in Noordwijk; it was such a relaxed atmosphere without too many people so you could really get to enjoy communing with nature. Envision me in my bikini doing yoga with the beautiful sunset and the water in the background. The open air market was incredible, I had to exercise great restraint or I’d have blown  my whole budget – especially on all the exotic (at least to me) candy. I moved on to Haarlem and was blown away but the incredible architecture – especially the churches, and how modern structures have been integrated.

Next came the incredible Vienna, Austria. The stone streets and sculptures adorning many of the buildings made you feel like you were in another time, I couldn’t help but imagine the incredible love stories that had been inspired by and lived here. I couldn’t have left Vienna without going to the opera, I got to watch Das Schlaue Fuchslein (The Cunning Little Vixen) it was such an experience I will never forget.

Last but definitely not least I finally made it to the city of my dreams, Rome, Italy. Its incredible how many stunningly beautiful women are just walking around Rome! Not to mention incredible vintage cars being driven around town, I could just see Audrey Hepburn walking these streets while she was filming ‘A Roman Holiday’. I enjoyed lunch lying in the grass in the park watching passersby and lovers that saw nothing but each other. The food was to die for! I couldn’t even tell you what my favorite meal was! It seemed each restaurant I ate at was getting its produce from the Garden of Eden, lol. The Vatican Museum, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Colosseum may sound ‘touristy’ but if you get the chance to visit them you should – they’ll take your breath away.

I spent my final days in Tuscany and Venice, Italy touring wineries - Cantine Antinori is lovely - little B&B’s with incredible views and sweet proprietors, vineyards, and Murano (glass makers) shops. Sunset gondola rides, dinner by candlelight, and nights welcomed with a glass of wine, silk lingerie, and stunning views of the ocean. It was the chance of a lifetime, and a lifetime of experiences but I’m glad to be home.

Now, what did you have in mind to welcome me back? ;)

xoxo
