What's the best Chinese restaurant in the 60s close to first or second ave?
ThankIn that area, there's not much at all. You can go up to the 70's where you'll find more to choose from, but there's nothing great there either. I would suggest you check out Philippe, at 33 East 60th Street (near Madison). Phone: 212-644-8885.
Thank you.
Do you know any good restaurants around that area any type of food. I'm more familiar with the west side. 8th and 9th Ave.
There are a number of options available in the East 60s. If Hunan is your interest, try Land of Plenty,
204E 58th St., b/t 2nd Ave & 3rd Ave. I particularly recommend the Stir fried lamb filets, the Pork with Chestnuts, and the Szechuan Pork Dumplings (very spicy). If you prefer less spice, China Fun, 1221 2nd Ave on the corner of 64th Street has very good Cantonese and their weekend brunch is the only Chinese breakfast I have found on the upper East Side. Both places are reasonably priced.
I love their salmon and spinach, and my friend is obsessed with their pasta.
