NYC Hotel Rates, Too High - Try Brooklyn or Queens
Here's an interesting article from a NY Times travel writer who writes a column they call 'Frugal Traveler'. I hate those surcharges travelers add when they book a Manhattan visit since they push formerly affordable friends from out-of-town over my budgetary threshold. Many of the Brooklyn or Queens locations are accessible by mass transit, too. Ditto for Secaucus, NJ.
