Need some info on NYC hotels, can anyone help me out?

Does anyone know if a key is needed for visiting guests, at any hotels NYC? Any, info you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

I never experienced a key being required for the elevators, just for any access points within the hotel and access points to get in to the hotel.

Hilton runs a number of hotels here..
The Waldorf has  plastic keys for the room access. Easy to get into elevators

They don't like to go over the 70's and they don't like to go under the 30's to meet their dates.

Just my experience on this from answering phones.

Also go to a large hotel and one with a couple of entrances that is located on corners.If you cannot get a room in a hotel that has a couple of entrances than make sure it is large and busy.
