I wouldn't call them routine, but...

I've recently begun using a cock ring to maintain and prolong erections. I'm curious how others (or providers) feel about how to introduce them into the encounter. Just matter-of-factly put it on, no discussion, ask if it's ok, ask her to put it on? I feel funny not saying anything in advance. How many providers consider them to be routine, no big deal, versus those who think it's exotic. Am I correct that young (20's) providers would be less familiar than more experienced women? Any thoughts, advice, etiquette suggestions, etc., from both users and providers would be much appreciated. Thanks for your responses.

They are definitely no big deal.  I suggest mentioning it pretty much right away - before playtime begins.  That way you no longer have to be anxious, and you know if your playmate has experience with this equipment.  If not, you can explain what it is for, show her how to put it on...we like to learn new stuff, you know!

I wouldn't feel uncomfortable with using one that you've used with other girls before.

If you bring a new one still in a package that you just bought I don't mind you putting it on.
