So yesterday as I was moving from a small historic property to a larger midtown property, I was standing on a corner for a cab.
The quintessential businessman in a long overcoat, briefcase with a sharp haircut walked past me, did a double take and literally walked around me in a circle like a vulture.
He smiled and said "so how do you like New York?"
He decided that he liked the way I looked I guess and began a spiel for drinks in the hotel I had just left. I thought he was good looking but was preoccupied and I have long since gotten over the charm of giving away free pussy on tour in between appointments.
But it made me self-conscious, he pegged me in about 5 seconds.
Was it a look on my face? LOL
Damn, I thought I "blended in" in flats and a cardigan. I suppose the fact I was looking at people's faces gave me away.
So after a late evening working yesterday
I stepped downstairs to a nearby coffee bar this morning and was immediately engaged in the line by someone asking if I "liked NYC" and AGAIN getting a straw and mixing in cream.
Now in all three instances, they were male, so maybe they were getting fresh- and in all three instances everyone was pleasant to me.
But tell me NYC'ers: can you just smell a stranger to the city?
A very special thank you to my morning visitor who took me on a "three hour tour" - you really made this visit and my last day special. I don't even want to go home because I'm kind of floating.
Xo & back soon.
Love,
Ally

you are memorable and there is no way they missed you all of these years!
Anyway, I think many people can pick out those out of towners in their city, try it sometime in your neighborhood. I bet you can tell whose is from out of town.
....Or because I was rockin the Harvard T-Shirt all over NYC : ).
I moved to Boston from Atlanta in May 2008 after falling in love with the city.
The image is just a signature picture that I made after moving; my photographer and I wanted to acknowledge the dramatic move.
We both decided that the t-shirt was a subtle & fun reference to my relocation - and considerably cuter than Red Sox gear.
If you feel you need to know though I will happily tell you where I went for undergrad and grad via PM : ).
You don't look "country" at all.
Its not really a handshake. We start a conversation about SOHO and depending on how you pronounce "HOUSTON" Street we can tell if you are from Out-OF-Town!!!
Hey girl I know this is off the topic but you have the cutest feet ever. I love the color I always wear red as well
stay gorgeous
