Are there any fun activities in Portland Maine?. My visits here have been pretty much boring its kind of the same ole same ole things to do. I want to do something really fun and exciting. Any suggestions?.

fun in portland depends on what you're into.  there are some cool forts and lighthouses you can visit nearby and downtown has some nice shops, bars/clubs and restaurants.  OOB about 15 minutes from portland also has a decent night scene.

The Stars and Stripes Spectacular, Portland's fireworks show, is quite good. It's on the waterfront at Eastern Promenade Park and they have stuff going on all afternoon. The highlight is the fireworks show at sundown, with live accompaniment by the Portland Symphony Orchestra.

This Friday is a "First Friday" which means Congress Street will be packed for the artwalk; there will be street musicians, probably some performers (dancers, etc.), plenty of galleries open (the museum, which is decent for a small city, is open for free after 5 pm).  It offers some of the best people watching Portland has to offer on a regular basis.  

For TER readers, I'll mention that I saw Kimbella last fall and had a great time

I went to this really great bbq place over by congress street. Amazing food..... I think the place is called Salvage I always drive by and I gave it a try.... Really really good food.

I love art so I'll probably stop by the museum and then the firework show!
