As a student of Psychology, I understand that eye contact is a key part of our interpersonal communications as humans.  No matter who we choose to be intimate with the experience will be much more powerful if there is a strong connection between a man and a woman.  This could be an impenetrable connection with a long-term partner or even someone who you may have just instantaneously connected with.  Eye contact during intimacy plays a vital role    
in achieving that impenetrable connection.
