... if (and to what degree) providers and hobbyists take posting history on TER into account when deciding whether to see that person.

Providers, if someone passes all your screening but you see something in their board behavior that turns you off, could that cause you to take a pass?

Hobbyists, same question:  if a provider checks all your boxes but you don't like how she presents herself on TER, could that by itself put her on your DNS list?

I can think of one provider in particular who said something once in a thread about 2 years ago.  She's fairly popular, and it really was a relatively innocuous thing so it doesn't bear mentioning, but it made me decide to not see her.

that's why posts shouldn't be removed, except under the most extreme circumstances.  I have been declined many a well reviewed TER provider appointment request because of my board posts.  Oh well...that's her missing out.  On the flip side I have no trouble rubbing elbows with the rest of TER's finest because they know where I stand and know I'm legit.

Same is taken into account on my side.  It's amazing how even an innocuous post can bring out the man hating tendencies in many a provider.  This chat, in all it's horrors, is a great tool for all.  Just wish it was more of a level playing field and it would be (semi) perfect.

I remember posts.

Why would I ever want to see someone who acts like a "not nice person" here, even if she only did so once in a few years. Same thing for the providers, if they think I'm a "not nice person" and one day I contact them, I'm sure they'll find a reason to not see me.

In my opinion, there's more than enough fish in the sea to go around on both sides of the pond.

Board posts are data as well.  Sometimes she'll let something slip in a post that wasn't in her reviews, website, or ads.  I've dodged a few bullets that way.

Also had a couple of providers I might not have considered otherwise because of their posts.

I don't see providers who post a lot on the board.

I couldn't agree more with that Vorlon.  I can think of twice when I was waffling about seeing someone and just one comment by them made me go "Oh!  I have got to see her!"  Had a good time too!

There are some providers who I have pursued because of their personality on the boards (of course, I checked out their websites, too).  There is one provider (out of my price range, unfortunately), who started pursuing me because of my board presence.  I might have to find a way to make an exception for her, I kinda like the "role reversal" thing we have going on.

is do you still see providers that go to the media?  Providers that have been part of organized dumbfoolery?
