Can I mention them here? I've been f'ing around a little on CL casual encounters. Almost every ad leads me to a conversation, which inevitably ends with the beautiful and horny chick on the other end asking that you go to a website for her safety. She's had a bad experience before and "do this for me" bullshit so we can meet and she will know she is safe.
I know it's a scam. What I don't know is what the scam is all about. Credit card maybe, but they always end up telling you with the second email that it's free and it won't cost you anything and no cc info is needed. Anyone know what the bottom line is? Are they just after email addresses or cc info?If anything is actually free, it's just enough to give you a taste and lure you in to paying for the "good stuff."
Also be wary of emails that have links or attachments; that is quite likely an attempt to get malware on your computer.-- Modified on 1/5/2016 7:39:29 PM
They will ask if you have a camera so you can do a video introduction. These are typically the virtual equivalent of the peep show booths of old. They will charge your card and it will be very difficult to cancel the re-occurring charges.
You give away your CC number. Nothing more to it.
I've had 1-2 doe the same on local ads. They'll ask to screen you by visiting their website and verify by charging a $5 fee on your card. It's my time to waste as I see fit and I did get a bbj once, easy as pie.
This was well said...I have had some good encounters on CL but man all the other time wasted was incredible. I have gotten more efficient at the process. While not a complete list a few immediate red flags are the following...
1. An e-mail telling you to send her a message in a different email address.2. An e-mail telling you to text at a number.
3. As was already mentioned, sending you to a "verification site".
4. Some generic e-mail with an https://bit.ly... address link. With no mention of what you were asking in your ad. Along with gay guys (who most of the time they are up front), this weeds out 90% of the BS.

You are totally correct. CL trolling is the same as the hobby. Only CL is so much more of a time waste. I have been lucky a couple times over many years most notably is the couple I posted about a short while back. Found 'em off CL - true story. (FYI I don't think they are around anymore) I would advise avoiding CL for the most part and try the online dating sites if you are trying the casual hookup route. Nothing's free or easy...its either a donation or your time.
