We talk a lot about expecting our ladies to be tested on a regular basis so that, not only they but also we, may have some reassurance that they are probably not infected with any nasty STD’s.  Well, it has occurred to me that we gentlemen, who are also quite active in the fun, would do well to be tested on a regular basis also.  When I think about how many guys are seeing the same ladies who I am seeing, I begin to wonder if I may be following an unfortunate mishap some day.  When you add to that the many traveling ladies who see men in many different cities it is obvious that the issue becomes focused even more.
The TER contains two past surveys which are striking to me.  You draw your own conclusions.  Here they are:
1) Are you worried about STD’s?
                No = 9%
                Somewhat = 30%
                Yes = 59%
2)  How often do you get tested for STD’s?
          Every 3 months = 9%
          Every 6 months = 10%
          Each year = 29%
          Never = 50%
(yeah I know, neither survey adds up to 100%.  Talk to TER about that.)
So that this post is more than just a pie-in-the-sky idea and the mindless spewing forth of one of the less influential gentlemen in the “community”, let me lead the way.  I am tested periodically for my own protection and that of the ladies I am privileged to be with.  My last testing was done on 11-04-2004.  Never having had any STD’s in my life, I am happy to report that I was again negative to any and all STD’s including the most deadly of them all, HIV and Hepatitis B and C.   I would further propose that we make our lab results available to any provider who asks for them.  I will also lead the way in doing that, even without being asked.  I know of several traveling ladies who carry their lab results with them on the road.  I know we can say that our results are only (completely unadulterated) (-:  until we see another person, but we really can’t argue with the truth that regular labs are better than to not be tested at all, or rarely.
We say that we honor and respect each other.  Is there any better way to demonstrate our high regard for our own safety and peace of mind as well as our respect for our multiple partners?
I’m sure that not everyone is going to run out and get tested but maybe some will.  That would improve the percentages significantly.  Well, that’s my $337 worth. ~~~~~cmeflyhigh

Its good to be reassured and to be able to consider yourself, and others, that you are low risk - but it doesn't make you or your partner risk-free.  Its no substitute for unsafe behavior, especially considering that providers are certain to have had far more partners than a hobbyist(speaking for myself only here).  As a side-note, many of the other guys I have observed at brothels or massage parlors (in US and abroad and I am talking about high class establishments and high class ladies) don't appear to have the same high standard for hygiene as I do, so you gotta wonder what kind of guys have been with your provider recently.

When I ask a provider if she has been tested and how often, its to gauge how safety minded she is.

Also, I cannot recall more than a handfull of incidents (out of hundreds) with a provider where I was asked if I have been tested.  So if she is not concerned about you, she sure isn't concerned about all the other guys she has been with.  Not that the issue should be dismissed, just all the more concern to be that much more cautious and safe.

With all that said, you have to wonder why TER encourages more credit (higher review scores) on certain things that are higher risk -e.g. BBBJ, DATY

Like she can believe anything a client says without proof.

Provider: Have you been tested?

Client: Why sure!

Feel better?

FYI ... for the ladies and the gentlemen...

one can always go to your county health department and be tested. (if you are not comfortable going to your county health department go to the health department in a surrounding county, just first write down a zip code for that county) you are not required to show any identification ... just give them a fake name and address and you are good to go (remember the name and address you use so you can use it again the next time you go). HIV is always anonymous, you will be issued a number...
i would recommend that the ladies tell the person doing your exam that you are a provider, they will make no judgments, actually they are glad that you came in, and they will be even more through in their exam.  the examiner will offer to test every orifice ... allow it, you can never be too safe.  there are also many pamphlets that you may take, free of charge that are verrry informative!
county health departments charge a nominal fee for these test, and like i said, they are happy that you care enough -- and are intelligent enough -- to get tested on a regular basis!
play safe, it is sooo much more fun when you are not worrying ...
sincerely, samantha
