Clients, do you get mad if a provider...

...doesn't text or email you after a date, thanking you? Apparently a few clients will not see a provider again if they don't get that electronic thank you.

This is from the General Discussion board. It got a lot of thoughtful comments and I was wondering what Minnesotans think!

but the way the appointment finishes often determines the overall experience.
If she sits there looking at her phone as I exit it's like a little kick in the crotch.
If she walks me out with a hug/smile/kiss/tease and "I'd love to see you again" the odds that she will increase 10-fold.
The text/email might be part of that.

I really dont care if they do or dont.

But lets just say it is a nice touch and makes people fell they "felt" a possible connection.

It is like much of the world now... some common curtousey of the past are not followed now...ie: thank u cards and notes.

BTW.... I always send a thank you after a meeting with a lady.   It is just a polite thing to do IMHO.

But again... it isn't a deal breaker for a return visit or not.

But this could also go with the "high end" discussion as well.  you know the little things that separate people or businesses.

Remember little things add value and also leave impressions.

.Absolutely not. Most of us know this isn't a relationship. We don't need a I love you or thanks for spending time with me

I guess if my only experience in this hobby was a 3 then I might have that same tarnished opinion that you seem to stand behind ...... but that being said I also believe that we as clients can add a little positive energy to a providers day by simply reaching out with a slight statement of appreciation and maybe that might be played forward by her next appointment or YOURS.  I always text a thank you or even just an emoji smile :) if I have their number .....
Ever mentioned to the person taking your money at the checkout or restaurant, how great your server (waiter/waitress) was (if they were actually good and seemed to go out of their way to serve) ?  Sometimes it tends to go a long way if not just to make you feel better for noticing. .... Sometimes we overlook the beauty of the architecture when we see the grafetti on the wall next door......just sayin !!!!

But if she does, I will remember that in the future.  It's a nice touch.

If you are going to send a thank-you text, you should do it immediately after they walk out the door.   Who knows where their phone will be when your message comes in an beeps.  Wife says, "Who's texting you?"

This is a comment from someone who is looking for a "connection" and not treating this as a business.

A dangerous thing to do in this hobby, but to each their own.

No. Everyone is busy. Its how the experience finishes, that determines if I return.

Reviews abound with guys seeking a “connection”, and many seem to reduce the review score and/or give a thumbs-down on recommending the provider if the connection isn’t there.

I don’t see why folks can’t seek a connection AND treat this as a business if they so choose.  This business does involve intimate physical contact, and a connection can make that more pleasant for both parties.  It doesn’t mean a marriage proposal is forthcoming.

This is the very reason I prefer they don't

if you are worried about what your wife is going to say when you compliment someone, then I am thinking you should be with Miggs out checking the street corners and not seeing the fine ladies on TER that we are reviewing and complimenting thumbs up OR down

Probably best if thanks are exchanged before you leave...but aren't you using hobby phones that get turned off and stashed?

New clients: On my end, I can't assume that they haven't deleted messages to avoid getting caught and that an unexpected message from me could cause mayhem.

Established relationships: It has been known to occur :) My established gents have earned a special place in my heart.

Not opposed to it, and I’d welcome it. More importantly, the experience and thank you on the way out.
